Burke's defense at 1:55 is just painfully awful. completely unaware of Gasol's obvious pick that he casually steps around while Rose gets the easiest bucket of the night. There is a reason why his DRPM is abysmal.

Isn't this the main knock people have had on Hayward?
He isn't a number one option and he doesn't take over a game at the end.

He did that this game.

Could this be the start of something?

He was a #1 option for one game. Can he do it consistently?

Well, he totally fumbled away the first few possessions of the last OT game (vs the Knicks).. So call it even on the recent OT heroics..

Also, down 3 in regulation with 13 seconds to go he steps up to the FT line, makes the first and misses the 2nd. Which could've cost them the game if the ball bounces a different way on the rebound, or if Chris Johnson doesn't make that great play chasing it down.

Plus it took Hayward a while to do damage, If he starts out decently this game doesn't play out nearly the same.

Is this a joke.. Butler is an allstar. A bonafide number 1 option on a playoff team. Hayward is a good player no doubt but he is on the borderline all star level. Would be a good number 2 or 3 option for a team with legit championship hopes...#Homerism

Yea, I know. When looking it's easy to find something to nit pick. Even Jordan turned the ball over a time or two in crunch time. These big time stars we seem to think always make a big play down the stretch probably make big plays in crunch time less than 50%, but those are the plays we remember.

We should be less nit picky when it comes to our players, especially when they do a lot of good things.

I'm curious how many turnovers or missed shots Kobe, Lebron, Jordan, Bird, etc... have had when the game is on the line vs how many big plays that may have won a game.

Good joke. I like it.

Let me ask you something.. How long is Hayward been in the league?

Hayward has improved to a solid player. If you want to keep being a borderline playoff team then YES he is a clear number 1 option. Hayward would be a GREAT number 2 or 3 option.. Imagine a team like OKC, where he would option number 3. He has proven to be a solid nba player. YOu cant be a legit team who can do damage in playoffs with your number 1 option being a borderline allstar..

He may be a #1 on a playoff team, but on any team with championship hopes Butler is a #2 or #3 option as well.

They will get out of first round, Jazz wont... Butler is a better defender then Gordon and can finish at the rim better, Hayward is a better shooter and passer..
