Hayward or Paul George

Didn't know how he played in Charlotte changed what he did in Indiana. That's crazy.

Go ask Indy fans about Lance Stephenson's good to great shooting at the 2 guard position. The article I found documenting his piss-poor shooting in Charlotte did acknowledge he was better in Indy, but still labeled him as a 'respectable' shooter.

I have these things called stats. Pretty big sample size in his final two seasons of good shooting. Issues later or earlier in his career don't change those final two in Indiana.

Somehow I don't care much about your stat of 3pt%. Kendall Marshall was a better 3pt shooter than Dirk and Durant in 2013-14 btw.

Look at some advanced stats from 2013-14 where George ****s on Hayward. Hayward only assisted at a higher percentage, which means nothing because he was unquestionably less efficient all around offensively. PG turned it over less and had a higher TS% and EFG%. The difference in defensive rating is laughable. It's like 96 to 110.

Hayward would have definitely gotten them to the finals. Totally would have made the difference versus Lebron and Wade.

This year Hayward clearly surpassed George. Never saw it happened TBH, 2 years ago George looked like perennial all star but since injury he has not been the same.

But he had his best year directly after the injury....

Yeah, PG played on a team with some great vets.

PG was on a team that revolutionized modern NBA defense and had vets in West/Hil to help him offensively. Meanwhile Hayward was out here playing with Al Jefferson.

I don't think the injury made him worse at all. He just hasn't worked as tirelessly as Hayward has on his game (especially this last offseason) and his effort has waned at times this year playing for a team destined for mediocrity.

Hayward has been phenomenal this season and has surpassed PG in every way.. thanks mostly due to his offseason tennis training.

Are you saying Utahr lacked vets during the Corbin era?

Im saying Big Al sucked.

This makes me wonder whether Utah or Indy had a better offensive rating during these years. I mean, it's been confirmed that George had unquestionably superior statistics, and if he did that while being part of a worse offense overall, well, that would be a real head-scratcher.

Wow. Looking at that video makes me wonder how many times the NBA tested Hayward for steroids thinking something had to be up only left scratching their collective heads wondering how he beat their test every time. Lol

Beat me to it

That's got to. E the worst thing I've ever seen.

I totally get all the excitement over Hayward and proclamations that he is superior to Paul George this year. The stats back it up this season. However I want to see how Hayward performs in the playoffs before I make judgement. The playoffs is where a player truly makes a name for himself, not the regular season where the games don't matter as much. PG has won 31 playoff games, led his team to the Conference finals twice (taking eventual champion Miami to 7 games in 2013), while Hayward made the playoffs once his rookie year and got swept. If Hayward steps up his game in the playoffs this year, that will convince me. But for now, I have to say PG is still the better and more proven/battle-tested player.
