I don't think GS had much to do with it all. If he stays in Utah, he probably doesn't make another all star game, with Butler and George being traded. In the East now, he is a guaranteed multiple All-star. I honestly think that was what broke his back.
 
similar to fish, i always thought G-time was a little overrated. this past season he actually was the player so many always thought he was. but it won't surprise me to see him regress next year to normal levels - about 55-56% TS. good player, wish he were still here, but the Jazz should be able to replace a lot of what he brought to the table.
 
Told you guys this was coming. Should have traded him last summer.

But its okay, we have a very bright future. Glad we didnt pay that chump that much money.

this does make me wonder that for the Jazz or a franchise like them, if you have a player who is going to reach UFA, you just simply have to trade him the season before it happens. i wonder if you don't have a choice - that the guy leaving and you getting nothing for him is a risk you can't afford to take. unless you're damn sure he's coming back - which was never the case with Hayward and Utah. i don't know.
