Here's My Outlandish 2015 Lineup

Sexual Favors

Well-Known Member
PG: Hayward
SG: Burks
Sf: Wiggins
PF: A. Gordon
C: Gobert

Benefits: we have elite wingspans and athleticism at every position. Defensively no one could score on that lineup in 2 years. We could outrun anyone.

Jazz have their pick, GSw Pick, Favors, Trey, and Kanter to try and make it work. If Orlando gets 1st or 2nd pick and we get 4th or 5th, would Trey and our pick be enough considering their real goal is a PG? Could GSW plus Kanter or Favors net us Aaron Gordon?

Bench=

Neto, Miciic, or Elfrid Payton w/ our 2nd round pick
Ray Allen (overpay for his mentoring), Clark
Marvin Williams, Jeramy Evans
(Either Kanter, Favors, or GSW pick or whatever isn't required in trades)
Ante Tomic (haha, yes I went there).

Thoughts? Would you try to pursue this?

I personally am high on Kanter and think his best days are ahead of him, but also would really like to see this team run. I used to be the biggest Favors homer, but have come to the conclusion that the scouts were right, he is mentally weak and unmotivated. Trey's defensive potential is very low.

Start four wings who can't shoot huh? Well at least we would be athletic.

A couple things:
1. Wiggins CAN shoot.
2. Hayward can shoot when he plays w/ other players who can. Reference 12-13 season where he was like 5th best 3pt shooter post December.
3. A. Gordon can hit occassional 3. He can't hit FT's, but neither could Blake Griffin.
4. In my scenario, we'd have Ray Allen, i.e. The best shooting mentor of all time.

Ray Allen is the only "shooter" on that team, and he would only be good for a few minutes a game.

I like the team, but for me, it is far too wing heavy. Hayward is good at oping guard for short stretches, but I don't like him handling the ball for extended amounts of time.

I would love burks/Hayward, wiggins and a gordon though. If we could draft wiggins and Aaron gordon, we would be elite in year one.

My lineup would be:

Neto
Hayward, burks and wiggins on the wing
Aaron gordon, Marvin, Jeremy
Favors, gobert

Hayward isn't TO prone enough for you, you wanna stick him at the point?

KkkKkKkkKkkkkKkk...

You just proved you haven't watched a single game all season. He is our PG already! Trey is just out there as our team's worst defensive liability, and a very poor spot up shooter.

Exactly. You don't hire him to play, you hire him to mentor and teach everyone else how to shoot. He seems like a guy who would be open to it. The Jazz already had him talk w/ Trey before Heat game @ ESA.

It would look great on his resume should he want to coach in the future.

I am reading this as a jabagainst my lineup, so consider this: how many players in my lineup are playing out of position? Yhe answer is 1/2 of 1. Hayward is already our main distributor. Both he and Burks are great ball handlers. Hayward doesn't have to defend PG's in my lineup, Burks could do that.

Your lineup is the antithesis of mine. Every position is incredibly weak defensively for position (Karl too, especially when considering age). I know you are joking, but even so...

I'll take it!

My "Corbin" lineup: i.e. Millers overrule Lindsey on getting rid of Ty. Dennis does his job in trying to shore up the bench with whomever he can get to come to Utah. Corbin does his job by playing the veterans instead of the "youngsters."

PF - Humphries, Kanter, Evans
C- Favors, Gobert, Nurkic
SF - Marvin Williams, R. Butler, A. Gordon
SG - Hayward, Burks
PG - Burke, Lucas III, Jimmer
Neto sees this train wreck of a team and decides to play in Spain again. Jazz draft and stash Bogdan Bogdanovic with their 2nd round pick.

My team would beat your team.

They would hit their free throws, they would be better from outside, and I would take Malone(yes at 50)/Parker over Gordon/Gobert. Gobert is not ready to start in the NBA. He will probably always be a back up.

Nope it won't happen, or nope you don't like it? Come on big guy, use your words :)

This pretty much sums it up but let me be more specific.
YOu have 2 bigs that have no other skill than dunking right now. Hopefully they'll get more versatile but that remains to be seen. Gobert even has butter fingers, nervous sweaty palms or his teammates don't leave magnesia powder left for when it's his turn. I'm really disappointed by Gobert's offensive contributions after his draft video and first summer league game.
Wiggins has yet to prove he's a shooter and Alec Burks hasn't been deadly from outside as well. So you have 2 bigs who can only dunk the ball which makes the 2.9 super deadly and even allows to double team and trap every ballscreen and also telegraph help defense on isolations.
If Pop had to coach that team he'd either retire or die from a heart attack on 2nd day of training camp.

Yeah that would probably be an awesome lineup in like five years. Depends how long you want to wait to win.
