Very offensively potent, but no 2 way players. Favors is growling at you. If he can't be enough defense for our current lineup, he definitely isn't enough for that one. We'd allow 150+ points per game or something like that.

As long as we score 151, we're golden...:)

PG: Hayward
SG: Burks
Sf: Wiggins
PF: A. Gordon
C: Gobert

Benefits: we have elite wingspans and athleticism at every position. Defensively no one could score on that lineup in 2 years. We could outrun anyone.

Jazz have their pick, GSw Pick, Favors, Trey, and Kanter to try and make it work. If Orlando gets 1st or 2nd pick and we get 4th or 5th, would Trey and our pick be enough considering their real goal is a PG? Could GSW plus Kanter or Favors net us Aaron Gordon?

Bench=

Neto, Miciic, or Elfrid Payton w/ our 2nd round pick
Ray Allen (overpay for his mentoring), Clark
Marvin Williams, Jeramy Evans
(Either Kanter, Favors, or GSW pick or whatever isn't required in trades)
Ante Tomic (haha, yes I went there).

Thoughts? Would you try to pursue this?

I personally am high on Kanter and think his best days are ahead of him, but also would really like to see this team run. I used to be the biggest Favors homer, but have come to the conclusion that the scouts were right, he is mentally weak and unmotivated. Trey's defensive potential is very low.

HottieNickkk is right. Hayward at point guard would be a disaster as far as TO's go. He would struggle mightily bringing the ball up the court agasint any kind of pressure. Better served to have him come off bench and let Neto take the reins.

Disagree.

Hayward runs the point already. Burke bringing ball up court half the time is just a ceremonial nod to the revered Jazz position.

Hayward is one of the league's few true point-forwards. Another true point-forward is Lebron. Lebron averages 3.5 TO's in the process of setting up his team's offense, and yet they won the finals the last two years. Hayward averages 2.8 TO's a game in his first year in the position, while also being forced into #1 option role. Given the new responsibilities and useage rate, it is clear to see how Hayward's handle has actually vastly improved. Put Burks in lineup and their is another very capable ball handler alongside him.

Defenses would have to pay attention to the constant threat of wiggins and burks, or the insanely athletic A. gordon who can also hit a 3, or lobs to Gobert, thus releiving pressure off of Hayward to facilitate the offense.

I doubt Orlando is going to move down just to get Burke. They could have drafted him if they wanted him that badly. I think Gobert is not ready to start so either Kanter or Favors has to stay. Favors is inconsistent so his value isn't as high so Orlando may or may not be interested in him. I am not ready to give up on Favors yet. He is still young and we just re-signed him to an extension. I am will to see how he does in his second year as a full -time starter and with a better team and possibly coach.

True, but then they wouldn't have Oladipo. There goal is a PG. Smart and Exum, and Tyler wont be there by the time their second pick comes around, and if they land picks 1-3, all of those guys are a stretch except maybe Exum. Taking Burke and swapping picks with us gets them a PG and someone like Randle or Vonleh.

Honestly though, this is called outlandish because the scenario is predicated on a lot of variables.

But we wouldn't, considering Burke is allergic to passing despite shooting 38%

You realize this makes no sense right. He leads the team in assist and you already admitted Hayward is the primary ball handler. How can he be allergic to passing and leading the team in assist as a secondary ball handler?

he is tied with Hayward for leading in assists (both at 5.3), and as of late his numbers have been way down. Hayward does the grunt work, and Burke capitalizes.

Yeah, but to capitalizes he has to still pass the ball. Again you already said Hayward is the primary ball handler therefore he should have way more assist than a black hole that the offense doesn't run through.

Not in Corbin's system where the #1 play is Hayward driving, drawing the defense in, and then kicking out to a guard/wing on perimeter (often this is Trey) who then quickly passes to someone else on the perimeter. Hayward does grunt work, someone else gets assist.

I'm not saying Burke couldn't facilitate, I'm just saying that under Corbin he really isn't. His assists are inflated because of plays like the one above, etc.
