What's new

Hey Bronco70, if you're still alive...

Watching Henderson Alvarez pitch for teh first time. He's a freak. Video game stuff.

Is this the Baseball thread?

The Gregory Polanco fire drill is real! He starts today.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbJernf9rKs - dudes gonna be a major factor with all 5 tools, you've gotta love a lefty who crushes left-handed pitching

Also holy **** did Lonnie Chisenhall make me look smart yesterday, I got 5 RBI's from Ian Desmond too. Ive been playing Fantasy baseball since Johan Santana was in the bullpen, I cant remember ever having near 20 RBI's on a monday.

What do you guys think, will any of these players will fall off?

Lonnie Chisenhall
Devin Moscaro
Corey Dickerson
Alexei Ramirez
Angel Pagan
Dallas Keuchel
Jason Hammel
Mark Buehrle

Yes. Someone will fall off.

I'm assuming you're not in a keeper league, so I'll just talk about this year.

I'd sell high on any of those guys but Mesoraco and Dickerson.

Is this becomes a fantasy baseball thread I'll be angry

is there a fantasy baseball thread somewhere? is this just baseball in general

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOid_89MA4E

this kid is from my HS. hes a cousin of one of my buddies from way back. I was playing pickup basketball with him just a few years ago( i have a funny story from one of the games too). Now hes one of the top 150 prospects in the minors. Keep an eye out for him, kids a monster, tremendous work ethic, and apparently hes been getting good tips from Matt Harvey. I know he had a no-hitter working thru 7 innings in single A this year.

he was the first pick for the mets in the '09 draft from HS, had tommy john surgery right away, he came back 2 years later throwing 97. hes a 6'4" lefty, just turned 23.

I watched him strike out 17 in 7 innings during a HS playoff game, infront of like 20-30 scouts.

If this becomes a PG_AB potential baseball draftees thread I'll be angry

Lol. I actually have 2 others, but they took their scholarships to Uconn and Stanford, so future drafts.

Matz is legit though, his fastball has nasty movement, he played in Low-A ball last year but was on the Mets roster for training camp, and got nothing but positive reviews, apparently Mets Manager Terry Collins told him "see ya soon"

"I love the kid's arm," pitching coach Dan Warthen said. "He's getting the ball down better each and every time. He threw a couple of great curveballs and a nice changeup today. It's a very positive outing for Steven."

"He's grown up," said Terry Collins, who recalls seeing Matz shortly after he was drafted. "He's a man now. He's got a great arm, plus stuff."

Matz fell behind 3-and-0 against his first batter, All-Star catcher Yadier Molina. But the lefthander bounced back to record a strikeout.

And yes, Gregory Polanco will be the greatest player in baseball history.

Me and my bro were given a Yankees team signed ball with Mantle and DiMaggio when we were kids. Gunna let him have it though. He'll cherish it. I'd sell it.

https://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/hall-of-famer-tony-gwynn-dead-at-54-061614

Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn has died of cancer at 54.

Gwynn's sweet left-handed swing made him one of San Diego's best-loved athletes. He was nicknamed "Mr. Padre" during his 20-year major-league career.

That sucks. He was one my top 5 favorite players growing up when I was more into baseball. Probably Hideo Nomo, Ozzie Smith, Greg Maddux, Griffey Jr., then him. Randy Johnsen would be up there too I guess.

Old man texted me that he almost perfect gamed the Rockies if it wasn't for an error or something .. don't remember. Love watching him pitch.

IIRC the Rox passed on him, Lincecum, and about 10 other aces in that GDMFin draft. Maybe PointGod_RememberEveryThingGoogleHasOnFitMinorBoys can settle this out for me.
