Hood's Injury

30.6 isn't accurate. formula is different. Without googling or doing the math to get a baseline estimate myself, I'd say the starting salary is closer to 28.5

Premise is still good though. The math and roster spots says our team will have some changes/turnover if we retain Hill, Hayward, and Ingles... which I think we do. I think Ingles is somewhere between 6-10 per year... Hill if healthy gets 20ish. Moving one of Dante/JJ/Burks would likely get us where we need to be. I said when we acquired Hill that if we re-signed him it would mean Burks was out... With Hood and Ingles I think we are fine at SG. Hoping our pick plus AB moves us up the draft.

I really like Johnson. He's such a clutch player. Having him late in games can be so important especially when you don't have a traditional superstar that getts BS calls as frequent as ppl change their underwear.
The Jazz have Ingles bird rights after 3 years. His cap hold should be pretty low in case that's relevant somehow and you can still sign him afterwards. I think though that Jingles could get a huge offer elsewhere. If you pay him $10M annually, you're going to hurt your chances to win and retain everybody. On top of that I hope the Clippers and Memphis struggle so we can separate ourselves comfortably from those teams and give Burks as much exposure as possible and score a good first round pick leading up to the draft.

Ingles is also restricted so we can control that... I really think teams will have a hard time understanding how good he is because of his look and how he gets things done out there. Hopefully depresses his value a bit.

I do not think a 46% 3 point shooter shooting 3 times a game, playing hard and just below average defense who on top of that is a creative passer, can get overlooked nowadays. It's more likely that ppl will overlook the hidden value of one-dimensional slashers. The more versatile his teammates are the more looks he'll get.
Before the Jazz picked him up from the waiver list, he was on the Clippers for the '14 preseason. Doc Rivers would kill to have the opportunity to play Ingles over Luc-Richard Mbah a Airball.
Since the contract he signed with the Clippers that the Jazz picked picked up, expired and '15 and he signed a new 2 year deal back then, he should be unrestricetd.

ESPN and other sites have him as restricted. think it's based on how long he's been in the league or something.

Weird. I remember KJ McDaniels wanted out of Philly real bad and only agreed on a 1 year unguaranteed deal to become restricted after year 1, when Houston? bid on him or sth happened.

Twitter is saying that Hill is fine and is playing tomorrow night in Dallas.

Also Hood is not playing but is traveling with the team. Implied that is a good sign for his time frame.

What's up with Hill again? Hard to keep up with his injuries

That was under the old CBA where max contracts were calculated at a lower percentage (42,14%) of BRI than the cap was (44,74%). In the new CBA, both the max contracts and the salary cap use 44,74% of BRI, so my calculations should be correct.

Nice, good to know!
