What's new

how bout alec burks??!

Thats odd, in his current mock on DX he has us taking Burks.

Was just about to say that.

Bucks have Salmons, Delfino and Maggette who can play wings and they committed a lot of money on these 3. Drafting Burks would be a waste of talent...

Pistons seem to be interested in European big men, at least from the reports.

Bobcats can be interested, but I think Stephen Jackson is more of a 2 than a 3 so they should be looking more for a SF than SG to fill Wallace's spot.

Warriors seem interested in Klay Thompson.

I hope we do pick Burks if he slips. If not, try Motiejunas.

I'm going to say it now, he will be very good in the NBA. I wouldn't hate it if the jazz picked him at three, we could easily trade down to #6 or 7, and pickup up some assets on the way to picking up Burks. Burks would be good running the curl.

is washington by any chance tryin to move up? and is nick young untradable? we could do a trade like nick young + 6th for 3rd?

you wanna be able to swap that CJ pick for one of Nick, don't ya?

it doesnt matter. i think it might be for the best for jazz to move down a bit and get a solid scorer or just a solid player with pick thats few spots down.

Yes!!! Because numbers always tell the truth, no need to actually watch the games.

I'm not going to pretend that I've been watching this guy since he was in high school; but his efficiency numbers took a huge hit when he became the focal point of his team's offense last season. All his better offensive numbers were based on volume. To me that's a huge red flag.

Also he's about the same size CJ Miles was 4 years ago - which means at this point he probably can't play the 3 and probably can't get to the rim at the next level - which means he'll end up being another shooting guard who can't shoot jumpers. And I've seen enough of those in Utah to last a lifetime.

insert super-duper cutting remark from Thee Jazz Fan here:

I agree with you for the most part. However, I think I might have more faith in his ability to get to the rim and finish. It's a big question mark. I think I'd rather have Hamilton at this point.

I like Burks, but I think Hamilton's my choice at wing of the options in the draft.
