I am talking long term plan with Gobert; next 3 to 4 years or so. Not so much just next year.
Also, It really doesn't matter how much you spend on Gordon Hayward. He have to spend that money on someone (and let's not kid ourselves: We are not gonna net a great guy in free agency) and let's say we land Jabari or Wiggins and they become a star, Gordon's contract will be up by the time we have to pay our big stud.
Also, You are wrong about Exum. If he stays healthy, he'll get to the rim at will in the NBA. Eat Crow!! (just playing man. I've always wanted to say that!!)
Since this is hypothetical, I would trade one young player + our pick. The young player depends on which player we are going to draft. Some of you guys want to sell the farm for players who haven't even dominated the NCAA, for guys who have put up decent numbers when given the minutes in the NBA. I am not ready to give up on Kanter yet but I understand that to get talent you have to give it away. If Kanter and Favors can't play together then why did you draft Kanter. Jazz should have taken V then to play center.
Anyways, I think giving away two first and a very good young player is way too much. I throw in a couple of seconds maybe but not two first to move up a couple spots. Now if Lebron was a possibility then yea I would throw in another first or two. Sorry but Parker and/or Wiggins are not close to Lebron coming out of High school. I hope DL has more sense and information to not sell the farm to move up.
Personally, I would trade Hayward plus our pick since Hayward becomes somewhat redundant with the addition of Wiggins/Parker. I do this because Hayward wants too much money. People say Hayward's money will be finished when Wiggins or Parker are up for their contract. Remember we have other players to sign, besides then you are just going to let Hayward walk because you can't pay Wiggins/Parker and Hayward. Yes hayward will want another contract. You can find another SG with the second first round pick and Burks can play SG and Wiggins/Parker can play SF. It is much harder to find a PF like Kanter in FA than it is to find a backup SG/SF.
