Yeah, it's a good thing we have trey instead of one of those.

At this point, I don't see Trey ever becoming anything more than a career backup. I'd be more than happy if Utah could get decent trade value out of him, but I think it's more likely he just ends up being our backup PG.
Basically, on TV Trey looks like garbage, but when you watch him up close you can clearly see he plays really, really hard and is mentally tough as nails.
I get it. I felt the same way going into tonight's game. Sitting from the sixth row changed my mind about Trey Burke though. Watching him on TV and watching him up close are two completely different experiences. Same thing goes for Enes Kanter, which I will get back to. Basically, on TV Trey looks like garbage, but when you watch him up close you can clearly see he plays really, really hard and is mentally tough as nails. I am back on the Trey Burke bandwagon so long as he can reign in his game a bit and play within himself.
Enes on the other hand is the complete opposite. On TV the last few games I was becoming a fan. Pulls some real interesting moves once in awhile. But sitting a few rows away from him gave me some new insights into his personality. Dude is lacking confidence. Seems real shook up. Based on an extremely limited sample, I came away with this conclusion about Enes: Dude needs to be told he is doing a good job constantly. He really needs praise. Early in the game he missed some shots and got a few foul calls against him and you could clearly see he was frustrated. Began to press. Then when he went to the bench he looked very mopey. Really handles criticism and negative feedback poorly. I came away a little more concerned about Enes. I realized his battles are in his head. Could go either way for him going forward if he isn't handled properly.
Trey is Dj Augustin.
I was a huge Burke supporter as well. He was clutch in college and appeared to be an actual PG who could control the offense. My main problem is he takes too many ill-advised shots and isn't improving. I think a lot hinges on how hard Burke works off the court. If he strives to improve (such as Steve Nash) and works harder than everybody else he'll play better. But as it stands he's not consistent enough.
