I can't believe how young the team is

I mean, we all know that we are a super young team. But do you realize how young? Doesn't it seem like Hayward and Favors have been playing for us for a long *** time?

Hayward is the wiley vet at 25 years old. Favors is 24! I cant believe that. Favors is only a year older than Gobert and Hood at 23. Burks is 24. Exum and Lyles are 20.

I never really bought in to 'wait until Hayward and Favors get even better' talk. Because this kind of seems like who they are at this point. But why not? By all accounts they should still be improving. What is the 'prime' for an NBA player? 26-31ish? So fast forward 3 years:

Exum (23)
Hayward (28)
Hood (26)
Favors (27)
Gobert (26)

Burks (27)
Lyles (23)

What is the potential for that team? top 4 seed in the West seems likely. If Exum works out, then it could be championship contender caliber.

My question to you, is how do you keep this team together? Can someone show me realistic contracts for all of these players for the 2018-2019 that has them here in Utah? I just have trouble believing it. We have grown this team, but how many of these players will be playing their best years for other teams?

Does this news make you sad or happy?

News? Most of us don't live under a rock.

Maybe not news. But to see it all like that. We are younger than you probably even thought, right?

I mean I don't really know how old I thought Favors was, but 24? DAMN.

Show me the contracts Cy.

No, it's brought up nearly every game how we have one of the youngest teams in the NBA.

I don't think anyone can come up with realistic contracts for these players because none of them have plateaued yet - Hayward may get marginally better or stay the same; but the rest are still on the uptick. Also with the expanded cap space it's not an exact science to gauge market value yet.

My guess is Burk and Burke will both be traded before their current contract is up. I would think The Jazz should have cap space to keep the rest of the players - unless Exum and Lyles explode and end up being stars.

Of course the wild card in all of this is the front office - will they make the financial commitment to keep these players (assuming they're worth keeping) or will they try to spin another re-set?

I was outside today, I can't believe how blue the sky is.

I hope this team gives the FO enough of a reason to dig deep and pay to keep it together. I think there's a chance that if they have some reasonable success over this year and next that they could really start to become something special.

Jazz could be top 3 in the west. Lets see if Durant stays in OKC, and lets see if the Spurs' backcourt is good enough in 3 years to keep them at a contending level. A lot will change in 3 years. Jazz still need to hold on to Hayward in FA. Minnesota could be special in 3 years too.

A lot is riding on Exum and Gobert becoming special for their positions obviously, but there's quality across the roster. I actually have high hopes for Neto being a factor too. He's doing okay for a rookie.
