Sure, it's great to have Jazz players doing cool things so we can say 'look at how cool we are', but if we want to be able to afford Jeremy Evans when he becomes a free agent, the kid shouldn't play in the dunk contest.
Selfish? Yeah. Still true (ish)
Even when he doesn't win (come on, he's not the popular player), he will still be over-hyped because of his involvement in the game, and other teams (Portland) will say 'hey, the Jazz always find the diamonds in the rough, let's throw 5 mil per for 3 at him and steal him away. Sure, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot, (Wes is great, but he's still not worth his contract IMO) but we still lose a good young player with a great team attitude.
The only good thing about him going would be that other players would see that Jazz as a place that can make them into 'kinda stars, but that isn't enough, so I say NO.
