The Jazz burst out to a 19-8 record to start the season and have earned one of the coveted spots on the NBA's roster of Christmas Day games. Derrick Favors has developed into Karl Malone with shot-blocking capabilities. Enes Kanter plays with such ferocity in the interior that he's become feared around the league. Gordon Hayward is one of the toughest match-ups in the league at small forward and is always good for 20 points a night. Alec Burks is a reliable No. 2 guard who plays good defense and is an exciting finisher on the break.

(the rest essentially explains how the Jazz will develop young talent like Favors/Kanter/Burks only to see them set sail to larger markets and how the Jazz will struggle to keep them)

Dont want to think about that now, but bottom line is there is still free agency and if a player is willing to take less money he can play elsewhere when contract is up. If we are truly contending for championships by then we should be able to keep most of our players. Look at Durant.

If this is the case then 2012-2015 must have been alot of fun. In the unlikely event Favors, Hayward, Kanter and Burks all pan out it will be virtually impossible to keep all 4 - whether you're the Utah Jazz or any other team, but it's the NBA so I can appreciate a 4-year window of watching these guys grow even if it's not a lifetime gaurantee that we can keep them all forever.
 
If KOC going 4-4 on getting superstars in the draft with Hayward, Burks, Favors and Kanter, then we are in a great position to pick the to keep the best ones as they would be restricted free agents. Or we can trade one away for future draft picks and the cycle begins again. Or you keep the ones that want to stay in Utah the trade the others. The Jazz would have the leverage. Or you just pay the luxury tax and win multiple championships. This is a good thing.

The Lockout ensured that their are powerful reasons (millions of dollars) to stay with the team that drafted you (or the team you get traded to on a rookie contract.)

It is far more likely that only 1 or 2 of them will become stars. The others will probably just become good NBA players.

You are worrying about things that you don't need too.

Once the luxury tax goes up I will be shocked if Utah is ever a LT payer. So yeah if they all become big time players probably little chance we keep them all. Dont forget our potential lottery pick this year from GS.
