What's new

I feel awful for hayward....that leg break...

of course Ainge had every right to trade IT but ... the guy played a day after his sister died and was the heart and soul of that team. He gave every ounce of himself to that franchise and that city and they took the nearest piece of Valerian steel they could and just drove it into his back and through his heart. Business yes but you're still dealing with humans. I think that was way worse than what Gordon did.

Valerian steel? Haha.. nice.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm realizing how ungrateful so many of you are. Just stop and think for a moment about how many Thunder fans wished they could have experienced what we just experienced.
If by thunder fans you mean every nba fan on the planet, i agree.

Nothing like a little gore to set the season afoot :)

Seriously though, I was looking forward to seeing the Jazz play Boston with Hayward. I hate the idea of teams not having their players, and Hayward sustaining this sort of injury truly makes Boston bad, and the Eastern Conference worse than mediocre. This is bad for the parity of the league.

As for Hayward, I hope he makes it back to full health. He did us wrong on 7/4, but I would prefer beating him as retribution.

This kind of injury cannot logically be considered commensurate for the type of “crimes” he has committed against Jazz nation. Karma would be Boston losing to the Jazz in the finals. If something has a potential to end a player’s participation in a professional sport while they are in their prime, i can only comprehend it as tragically unfair. This is what he has chosen to do in life, after all.

Sometimes you can have the right to do something and not do it in the douchiest way anyways.... even though you have the right to.
He fumbled the release of the article, but other than that, I don't see his exit as douchey.

We weren't going to be happy unless he signed on the Jazz.

Right it's like right before punching the bully he crus and tells you about his rough family life. Man I wanted to get this guy back now I have to feel bad... sucks.
Nailed it

Hayward wanted to go to Boston so he could get to the all star game easily and then sign a super max contract. That's probably never going to happen now.

Depends if you believe he was really giving all the scenarios actual consideration. Hindsight for me tends to point to he'd decided this long ago and tried to make it look like he hadn't and botched it so bad he had about a 6 week string of douchiness. Never mind.

Be pretty amazing if he gets back to his best after this. Fingers crossed for him.

He'll certainly have plenty of time to catch up on all the phone calls he didn't make.

He could only sign super max with Jazz....

He never, under any circumstance, would have been eligible for it in Boston.

Seriously, debating about what happened with free agency when an athlete goes down like this seems petty. Regardless, what you think of his free agency decision show a little compassion for a fellow human being. Don't be like that jerk Skip Bayless who has proven again how big of a jerk he is.

I hope Hayward fully recovers and we get an opportunity to play against him and the Celtics. I hope this doesn't end his career because despite everything I enjoy seeing him play.

Let's not forget how he basically gave everyone in the Jazz organization the proverbial cold shoulder and finger. No comments about his teammates in his article? Not calling Synder or Gail. Come on man. Admit it Cy, how Hayward handled the whole thing was ********.
