unrealistic expectations how? by wanting them to pick the best player at 9? paul george is a future all star and will more than likely be available at 9. even ed davis or aminu have the potential to be. monroe, aldrich, babbit do not.

how many times are the jazz gonna have a lotto pick this high? they arent luring any FAs into salt lake city. this draft needs to count, and its not going to if they pick the players i mentioned and pass on other guys.

If you look at draft history of picks in the area the Jazz are scheduled to pick, you would be happy with the Jazz getting a solid player out of this pick. Expecting more is unrealistic. Could you hope for more? Sure, but expecting it would be foolish. The draft is essentially a crapshoot after pick #5...especially in this weak of a draft.

the thunder got the 18th pick and cook by giving up their 2nd round pick (#32). watch that pick net them a larry sanders who will end up the sleeper of the draft. they are also actively trying to trade up into the lottery, namely the pacers 10th pick.

The Thunder could do that deal because they have the cap room. The Jazz do not have any.
