I love Millsap but...

The Thriller

One has to wonder how long he can go carrying this team offensively? Even Boozer (when he actually was healthy and played) had help from Memo, Korver, and Millsap. But right now, he's not getting much help at all.

Tonight, Al had 2 points. Even Fess could manage 5. Hayward is hardly playing and Evans has been injured until recently.

I'm just concerned that Millsap is going to wear down. Especially since he plays (hard) while injured. Is this a legit concern or can Millsap continue to average 20+ throughout this year?

This post didn't need its own thread.....it needed its own website!!

With insight like this, the only thing this thread needs is the delete button.

lol, malone only had stockton

so millsap might only need DWILL.
just need 2 find 1 GOOD 15ppg scorer ala hornaceck(maybe AL can be that 3rd option or memo or cj or ak) just one of those needs consitency
and just find some GOOD role players.

Millsap doesn't understand what "wear down" means, dumb ***. He's a ****ing modern day hero.

Except for when he did. I remember a year or two ago when he had an outstanding December and January and everyone was talking about him replacing Boozer. Then, after a few months and injuries, he became a shell of what he used to be.

He's the man, but I'm worried that if he doesn't get some help soon he'll wear down. He's literally the only low post scorer and rebounder we have right now. Fess is inconsistent, Jefferson is completely lost (and never boxes out. He's such a liability on the boards), Elson is limited, and Evans hasn't played.

Dude has been pretty damn durable. He injured both his knees that year, but since the Jazz needed him, played through the pain. I don't see how you can fault a guy for getting injured and producing less. If he doesn't get injured, maybe wearing down isn't an issue. We'll see.

The best part about this game was Millsap getting hurt, going to the locker room, and coming back out and winning the game for us. Amazing. Dude is probably hurt every game, but his Ron Boone instinct gets the best of him. He's not a ***** like Boozer.

Apparently, we only need Millsap.
Deron, AK and Fes were great in the second half as well, but that comeback doesn't happen without Sap going off. Deron started feeding him the ball practically every time down the court, and Sap converted just about every time, even when Miami figured out what was going on. It was just plain incredible.

Edit: Also, Ronnie Price had one of his great games. He can change games with his intensity alone. It was contagious tonight.

I'm not faulting him. I'm just stating facts.

Yes, we'll see if he can keep this up. I hope he does, but Karl Malone (as a previous poster tried to compare him to) is an exception. I truly hope he can keep this up. If Jefferson could somehow pull his head out of his ***, we could have one hell of a frontline.

Yeah no doubt, I was half joking. Jefferson is really the only person who had a bad game, and I think he will step it up.

In the first half, lots of guys played poorly. Raja didn't contribute much, and CJ didn't contribute much until the last Q +OT. There's lots of room for improvement, but at least the Jazz are fighting for wins, unlike the first couple games of the season.

Im sure Sap has improved his conditioning, especially since he knew he would have an increase in time this year.

I don't think Millsap will score 46 again but I also don't think Jefferson will score 2 again...combined they scored about 8 more than they will on average during the regular season...the Jazz are fine offensively, they just aren't that deep. Once Memo comes back and Raja find his grove I think we will be fine. We definitely miss Korver, Brewer, or Matthews as another 8 ppg type of guy off the bench. I don't think Hayward is like that yet

I think Paul will be just fine and there is no need to worry as long as he is healthy. This is what he's always wanted so it's up to him not to wear down and keep delivering for the Jazz as a go to guy.
