What's new

I need help from everybody: educating Bollerjack

He's also called football games a lot longer.
.
I don't hate boller, he could be better but he's far from the worst announcer out there in the NBA world.

Wish I had that kind of job security.

Boss at yearly evaluation: "So tell me about your accomplishments this year and how you would rate yourself'

Me: "I'm far from the worst in the company."

Boler has a great voice. It doesn't wear on you. But I HAVE grown tired of his many mistakes. I think he's more interested in talking to Harpring than paying attention to the game.

I've started watching the other feed when possible. It's refreshing to hear announcers with great knowledge of the game. And generally they've been pretty positive about the Jazz.

I looked at some archived Jazz games Boler did back in the day...here are some of his calls:

George Gervin hammers down the finger roll.
Larry Bird throws up a brick from the corner that hits nothing but net.
Magic with a nice skip pass alleyoop to Cooper.
The Mailman with the two handed monster lay in.
Griffith hits a miracle shot at the buzzer from half court...but wait, is it a 2 or a 3?, let's see what the refs say.

lol I heard the skip pass thing for the 1st time last night. It was a driving bounce pass that went about 6 feet. I started laughing thinking about this thread. I think I mostly tune out the announcer's because I had not heard this till then.

I like when Boler called Hayward's fadeawy 18 footer on Whiteside in the 4th quarter a 3.

I like Boler. It's just the 3 point thing kills me, though like I said before it's just funny now. It's not like they are all close either, he does it when the guy is 2-4 feet inside the line. And it's not like he just does it once a month or it's got better. It seems like it's gotten worse throughout the years.

Still, he seems to enjoy himself out there and that's a plus. Also him and Harp don't whine about the refs that much, at least compared to some of the other guys there. Tomorrow I'll have the misfortune of hearing the Denver group, and they are total whiners.

I've never understood total whiner commentators. Either they've had a meeting with staff to make the complaining part of their narrative(which pisses me the **** off) or they've totally skipped over it in meetings like it's not obvious it's part of their schtick. Either way it's pathetic.
