I Was At Last Night's Knicks/Jazz Game

Yes, I was there at the Garden last night for a classic b-ball game. Overtime....Knicks WIN!!!!

-- have to admit, Heyward hitting three free throws with 2 seconds left in regulation to send the game to OT in an arena that was loudly savaging him...classic Garden moment. Abused for 48 minutes and what does he do? Shuts us all up. Ice water in the veins. Clutch player. Great player. We were stunned that he made all three. We were also very impressed. Respect.

-- went to the game with a nephew who was wearing a Heyward shirt and surprisingly there were other Jazz fans at the game. Right behind us were two Jazz fans, on train ride home a Jazz fan...kind of surprised to see that of the 19,000 at the Garden there were some Utah fans. Good show. Support your team thousand miles away in very hostile territory.

Who is this Heyward you speak of? Did Utah release O'Brian and sign another guy? If your nephew was wearing a "Heyward" shirt he must have bought it from a street vendor and got ripped off. Did you mean Haywood? I remember Spencer Haywood, but he retired some time ago.

And I clean you out when I lay down my cards and reveal...

Willis Reed,
Clyde Frazier,
Patrick Ewing,
Mason and Oaktree,
John Starks,
Dave Debusschere,
Bill Bradley,
Mark Jackson,
Phil Jackson,
Amar'e,
Melo,
Porzingis,
Bernard King,
Dikembe Mtumbo,
Earl The Pearl Monroe,
Zach Randolph,
Marbury,
Spreewell,
Bill Cartwright,
and of course,
Jeremy Lin.

You lose. You lose big time.
Just like the Jazz vs. the Knicks last night.

I'd take Jazz alumni over Knicks alumni any day of the week. Silenced just like we did to Melo in game 1.

Why would people hate Hayward? I mean, most of us did when we thought he'd be a glorious bust, but that's very different, and he's also not a bust. So...?

My friends of color hate him because he looks like a privileged white guy... and he can ball. It's racist, but just the way it is...

All in all I must say that was a very classy post coming from a Knicks fan.

I like hearing input from outsiders, can put things more into perspective. I don't see hating on Hayward is a bad thing, better cause some reaction whether if it's good or bad than no reaction at all. Hood has something special in him. Gobert has already become a well respected player around the nation that's one thing we already knew. Porzingis might save your life over there, reminded me of a young Sabonis who was killing it in Europe in his prime. Too bad people didn't get to see how good of a C he really was, with an outstanding range.

At the end of the day though, go Jazz forever baby

Hmm, I don't know what the point of your list is, but I do see Deron Williams name on it. I now know that your list is a list of complete *** holes that took the owners for every last dime, while at the same time playing absolute crap basketball. Wow, didn't know the Utah Jazz had so many like that. Thanks for that info.

Yes, thanks, it was a classy post from me.

And, yup, it is good to hear what outsiders see in your players. I offered great insight into your team with my post, while the posters here offered none. It gets very tiresome to hear from fans of a team saying over and over that their team is great, your team sucks. Unfortunately, that is what the majority of the posters on this thread have been doing. Jazz are great, Knicks suck. Boring. Bad show, Jazz fans. Acting like 13 year olds.

Is Melo even a Jazz killer? I seem to remember the Nuggets getting beat by the Jazz in the playoffs, you know, back when Melo made the playoffs (before he went to a sucky team like the Knicks).

Now easy there. There are many great posters here. It's a very knowledgeable fan base that many teams would wish to have. Don't take things to the extreme bud.

Melo played with Denver? No one cares about that. It's like Babe Ruth played for the Red Sox?

Melo is a Jazz killer. Last night, the easiest 30 points I have ever seen. I got to my seat, game started, I went to get a hot dog, sat back down and Melo already had 30. He would have put up 70 against the Jazz last night if I was hungrier.

He was killing it when the Jazz whipped the Knicks earlier this year as well.

The bad part of your Ruth analogy is that Ruth actually won when he got to the Yankees. Melo's most known for the fact his wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.

Most of these post by Jazz fans are nothing but insults against the Knicks. That's just sour grapes. We beat the Jazz last night, it was a top game, why not just be men and take the loss as men? I gave proper respect to Hayward and Hood and Gobert. See anyone here posting good things about our stars last night Melo, Porzingis, Robin Lopez, or our D-Will?

Ok don't like you any more, begone! You're yet another mindless Melo a$$ licker...

You have Jackson and Sprewell on your list. You shouldn't go there lol.

Porzingis is nice, horrible shot selection though.....he's gonna be sick as long as he never hurts his feet
