The family wants to go road-tripping again, and they have told me to gather some intel as to what some of the must-see places in the United States are, that are <1000 miles away from Edmonton

Naturally, my first destination for the knowledge-seeking is the intelligence-hodgepodge also known as Jazzfanz.

Anywho, nice places to visit? We went to Seattle last year, and loved it, but only spent like 6 hours there before we had to drive back. The shopping was also incredible.

Portland?

Salt Lake City (my parents would probably say NO to this because they think I have a Utah bias due to my Jazz-fandom, as well as the fact that its 800some miles away from Seattle) could be a destination, but my parents would need some good reasons, of course.

Seeing as we only have 7 days to spend in the States, we would have to knock out at least 2 for driving if we'll be trekking for 1000 miles (us fatigue-less Albanians usually alternate between 3-4 drivers to knock a road trip in one night).

Gods, I hate using the imperial system for distances. But yeah, throw me some recommendations. Grab a map and look at Edmonton, and try and note some places that aren't too far. Side Note: my family likes hiking, but doesn't like camping. Thats why I never bothered mentioning Montana. Would rather visit more urban-ey areas, I think though. Thats why I think Utah could be a pretty awesome destination for the fan, seeing as theres hiking, decent city areas to visit, and a few sights to see. Not sure if its on the same realism of Seattle, or Portland though. Then again, I would know, so please enlighten moi.

I don't know how far it would be for you but I'd do Northern California (Yosemite, etc.) first for about four to five days and then come back and see Oregon and Washington for the last five or six.

It's settled. I'm coming to Utah.

Cyrone, I have an older and a younger brother. No sisters.

You are all making a terrible case for Utah being a good travel destination.
