If the Jazz could draft any of these players, which do you prefer (right now) ??

Which player would you draft right now?

Ya'll know that if the whole league and all the talking heads say that the Jazz should draft a pg that KOL will draft another 6-10 pf/c just to show them all.

Poythress is the only legitimate defender at the position we need it most, 3, its an area of concern because by the 2014 draft the league is going to be FLOODED with talent at SF. i contend him and favors would be able to offer Kanter or Al the best help defense we can afford. Also hes the type of 3 that pushes gordon into his natural position a true triple threat, space eater. on the wing. vacuum player.

Do the Jazz really need a point guard? I remember in the Mo Williams press conference the queen bee herself Gail saying to Mo that they wanted to keep him for the rest of his career in not so many words. So our starting point guard spot is taken, and don't we all want Burks to play at the point? As long as Hayward is on the team, the starting 2 guard spot will be out of range because it'll either be Foye or Hayward, both of which KOC thinks highly of, so if Burks is going to get any kind of time on the floor, it has to be at the one spot. So why waste a first round pick on a player that is destined to be the THIRD guard on the team? Better to get that guy as an aged vet or a second round pick.

Frankly, I think they need to use the late first round pick on a second tier center who has a complete game to back up the frontcourt after the Jazz lose either Paul or Al or both. As for the other one...... Not sure. Maybe a point guard, but more likely a power forward.

Oladipo maybe might be a perfect spark plug for the jazz next year but long term the size and talent of the SF's is going to be rampant in the NBA, picking up a noted defender in this draft maybe of great value in the scheme of a long term outlook

Oladipo can provide the same sort of defense but more likely to nba 2's, we already have a 6'9" SG who gets blocks, were legit. IMO, Poythress is a good fit, worthy of trading up to secure.

He Flashes.

Also hes gonna destroy the measurments predraft, obviously.

im a kentucky fan, but this is not a homer pick, he fits the areas of BPA & NEED, massive upside, footspeed and strength already as a youngin' should not be undervalued. PKM whos got the highest rep on this board has explicitly stated how smart the kid is. thats good enough for me. what if his jumper continues to improve marginally for a few years?

in the 2013 outlook thread, i posted a roster with us signing al farooq aminu for mid-level ish to fill this exact role

It's not easy to watch ncaa games in Turkey, but I have watched trey burke several times and i really love his game... I'll be glad if we select him.

This one is pretty clear cut down to two choices. The best wing is clearly Porter and the best point guard is clearly MCW. The only question here is which position is more important to the Jazz right now. I see a real need for both, but would personally pick MCW. However, there is almost no chance that either falls far enough for us to pick them. Trey Burke is the best fit of the players with a reasonable chance to be available to us, but that doesn't make him better than the rest.

MCW is going in the Top 10 wont get past the Kings. Book it.

Trey Burke fans please direct your attention to the draft thread where i have totally de-railed the logic behind the hype-train that is trey burke whos honestly just a duller version of steph curry, best case.

worst case hes a liability, doesnt have the athletecism of a guy i want running the team(sounds like maynor and kendall marshall) as a starter, nor am i convinced hes a 4:1 AST:TO ratio guy, as a probing PG. when you can get that from the vet min from tinsley...

go pg in the 2nd round, thats where theres some alpha and far less risk. burke at marketvalue is overpriced, hes being touted as a player of the year candidate, i contend hes in the right place at the right time. like kendall marshall of last year

check page 272 of the draft thread for my debunking of Trey Burkes 'athleticism' and characterization as a system beneficiary

If they dont move up for poythress, i fully support the taking olynyk movement if we stand pat and go bpa, bpa. completes a filthy big rotation next year of

(Jefferson-Favors-Kanter-Olynyk)

Nab BJ Young with the Jazz pick the guard roto looks

(Mo-Gordon-Burks-Foye-Young)

Resign DMC and go sign Al Farooq Aminu (@market-value)to play the poythress role i just described about poythress on the first page.

(Aminu - DMC - Starvin Marvin)
