What's new

If the Jazz could draft any of these players, which do you prefer (right now) ??

Which player would you draft right now?

I'd take Shabazz over them all, and he's just as realistic as Oladipo/Porter.

Not sure that's true. I think he goes top 3.. and though it may not be a lot higher, it is higher .. and it woukdn't surprise me to see one of Porter or Oladipo goes around 10.

I feel like he SHOULD go top 3, and maybe he will, but right now Oladipo and Porter are higher on Ford's big board.

Ford's board is so reactionary though. I don't think he looks at the bigger picture as much as current performance.

Also, I don't have insider so I can't read the whole thing, but on Shabazz little description for Chad Ford's top 10 it begins to read "The second coming of Michael Kidd-Gilc ..".

WTF? Isn't Shabazz like the polar opposite of Gilchrist in terms of intangibles and pretty much everything?

He has a motor like MKG. Not the same intangibles as he's more a me first guy. Id bet Chad's pudely talking motor and work ethic ... he has that.

I think that's based on info they had at the beginning of last year:

Mar 28 Update: Muhammad is a super-athletic scoring machine who gets to the paint at will with NBA-level strength and explosive leaping ability. He plays hard on every possession on both ends of the floor. His outside shot has improved but can still use work. A number of scouts believe he could be the next Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He's a likely top-three pick in the 2013 NBA draft. According to Telep, Muhammad has narrowed his school choices to UCLA, Kentucky and Duke (with Kansas and UNLV still in the running).

Here's the latest update:

Jan 30 Update: Muhammad continues to rebound from a shaky start. In the four games since our last update, he averaged 18 points per game and shot better than 50 percent from the field. But there's a growing feeling among scouts that Muhammad might have leveled off a bit. His motor and killer instincts are apparent, and most scouts believe he could be a 20-points-per-game scorer at the next level. But does Muhammad have the ability to go from very good to superstar? Most scouts are still waiting to be convinced.

I just watched youtube videos of each player (burke is the only one i have really even seen play) and my favorites were poythress and mccollum.

Will poythress be able to play SF in the nba or is he a tweener like derrick williams/terrance jones?

How are mccollums assist numbers?

Will either guy be available in the 15-20 range?

Poythress can play SF, yes. As has been dizcussed ad nauseam, he has ALL the tools but lacks fire. Too passive.

He's very young so that could change, but that's not normally the case.

are we all just gonna pretend like poythress isnt shooting 42% from 3 and 57% overall...?

im sure poythress is going to DESTROY the measurables. so i see him in that light.

i can make a case for him (for the jazz purposes) over shabazz whos my favorite prospect in this draft, Noel 2nd, Isaiah Austin 3rd.
