Ty's job is the safest coaching job in the NBA. Ty could go 0-82 and he wouldn't get fired.

If he goes 0-81, he won't be fired. If he goes 0-82, or even 1-81, his contract won't be renewed, either.

My opinion on this thread is that Ty does not get fired, but the Jazz just get a new coach at the end of the year. Jazz haven't 'fired' a coach since Tom Nissalke.

I can see one of currently tanking teams will land coaches like SVG, George Karl when they believe that they can compete in play-offs. Maybe they don't want to ruin their winning records or hurt their reputation with taking part at teams that rigging for Wiggins and these guys are much more expensive thats why FOs of tankers would rather cheaper young asistant coaches who won't say no to a promotion.

He didn't "have it anymore" when he was dealing with Deron Williams.

He burned out. It happens to everyone. He's had a few years off to recharge - I can see him coaching again, and would be thrilled if it were with us. He's one of the best to ever do it.

Now, now.. Don't you know by now that we're tanking.

A lot of coaches go all season long until losing their job. I expect this to happen to Ty.

And why Jerry or Phil. People act like there is only three coach candidates in every situation. Maybe if this team got a fresh breath of air, like a new coach not previously from payroll of the Utah Jazz, we would see something new. We'd see a change.
