If we gut the team, how good would we be next year?

I think this can vary significantly based on the picks we end up with in addition to how much you really mean by "gut the team". Mo and Carroll are back? Are the Jazz really going to be able to draft Burke AND Olynyk?

The talent with the youth is there. Unfortunately Corbin wasted this season and now the youth doesn't have enough experience needed to be successful. Next year will be a learning year. Bottom 5 team wouldn't be far fetched.

You do not know that. The Jazz will have money and resources to spend. They could have a decent bench.

The OP said no significant signings. So just players to fill out a roster basically. If we made a nice bench my opinion would change.

I really don't think that we'd be that much worse. We'd be a 500-600 team that makes the playoffs.

Well Utah never tanked for LeBron, but I don't think O'Connor would tank with S&M on the team, anyway.

Don't want to say they'd take a chance to tank for a superstar in 2014 though. They'll use the 20 Mil to pick up a star this year, and then do whatever the next.

Could be Jennings. Could be Teague.

Could be Pekovic. Could be Chris Paul. Maybe he always wanted to see what it was like to play for the team that "passed him up".

Who knows? Not meeeee.

Also, aren't we kind of FORCED to sign some significant free agents? Our core 4 are all pretty cheap and there is a minimum amount that we have to spend right?

I dont think we will give watson and tinsley each a 1 year 15 million dollar contract, so we are going to have to spend quite a bit of money somewhere.... so im quite certain we will at least have an average bench next year. (especially since burks and kanter will most likely be coming off our bench still anyway lol)

You're on here enough to know that these issues have been clarified. Repeatedly.

This isn't the right spot, but who the **** cares -- I'm spraying this opinion everywhere. PnRs with Kanter and Teague would be sweet as hell.

Jennings is not a superstar, not even halfway decent PG as far as I am concerned!
Jazz better not touch him,at all!
Please no!

What's with the if? It's going to happen. O'Connor didn't leave that much cap space just so we could resign Al, Millsap, Watson, Tinsley, and Foye. If they do this, I'm going all franklin on them.

Just because the roster is young does not mean they'll make a lottery team. Each member of C4 is starter caliber already. I'd say 7th - 8th seed.. with the lineup of PG - Burks - Hayward - Kanter - Favors
