It's because Utah doesn't allow access to pron any other way. In Californication you have a nudey magazine/video store on every corner. Utah laws don't stand for that...not to mention the demise of the video store altogether.

It doesn't appear that they weeded out the Mormon vs. non-Mormon buyer, or the single vs. non-single buyer either.

But yes "Creepy Mormon guys and their secret lives" is very much in play in the stats.
Sorry, I live in CA and magazine stands and video stores have largely gone the way of the dinosaur, just like in every other state and country. Would be interesting to see the stats broken out as you stated. I have a feeling porn is less watched by married couples vs. the national avg and perhaps spiked by single guys (and ladies). Probably a lot who might not want to just hook up with someone, but instead, use porn to satisfy their desires. May not seem like a big moral difference, but I think a lot of people see it that way.
