If you were the GM of the Jazz...

Well, it all started with KOC. Now that some of you are starting to realize this you can thank me later. But, you can't I mean can't be a GM with out a plan and not make the necessary moves even the hard ones if you are going to be a GM of a PROFESSIONAL level team. That was KOC problem was he had no direction he did thing without any plan in place. So, we have moved on and had an awaking. DL came in and he has shaken some stuff up. But, right now he is falling right back not having a plan. Because if we are going to tank and get a high pick he should have moved Williams and Jefferson yesterday. If not we need some more talented players and we should have moved Williams and Jefferson yesterday. Btw his plan should not be copy the San Antonio Spurs because they were just another team until they got Tim Duncan and unless he is going to give the ultimate command of tanking we are not going to even see a player the likes of Tim in Utah.

Most of these posts are completely unrealistic. Sure, tell Corbin and the players to behave like GS and purposely lose games. I want to support a team like that! Trade RJ and MW. Puhlease...not one of you can come up with a proposal that makes sense for the Jazz AND the other team.

KOC rebuilt the Jazz after Stockton, Malone and Horny left. Look at other franchises that have struggled for YEARS after their superstars have gone. KOC gave us a team that went all the way to the WC Finals. And then, largely because the "franchise player" wouldn't commit, he began to rebuild all over again.

Yes, the Jazz were at a critical juncture this off-season: re-sign Millsap, Carroll, etc and compete for a low seed in the playoffs year after year or go with the youth, see where they could take us and get a lottery pick in the process. Sorry that the young guys have played TOO well. Hayward has been on fire, Favors is putting up double-doubles, Kanter is showing flashes, "Houdini" is amazing us all with his circus moves and Burke has been steady, although a touch disappointing in terms of FG%.

Hayward 36.2 mins/per
Favors 31.3 mins
Burke 31.0 mins
Burks 27.6 mins
Kanter 25.0 mins

OK, I'd like to have seen Burks and Kanter closer to 30 mins. If anything though, given the fact that the lineup with those 5 is the best statistically, playing Jefferson and Williams has HELPED the tank. Or alternately, should Corbin play all the young guys 10 mins less so Utah can lose more. Do that and we'd be screaming he ISN'T developing the core-5.

Lindsey also has the team in solid financial shape. He has a stock of future assets. Not saying Corbin is the COTF. In fact, I think he'll be let go. DL has done a fantastic job in Year 1 of the youth movement. Of course he inherited a great group from KOC to build upon.

1. Unlikely a team will give up a top-5 pick. So draft Gordon or Vonleh in that 7-10 range.
2. Obtain another first-round pick. Combine with GS' selection and trade into the teens for McDermott (if he doesn't move too high after workouts)
3. Go after a FA or trade for a starter from a team that needs cap space in the $8M range.
4. Perhaps offer MW a reasonable, short-term deal (depends on the draft or if a better player is available via trade/FA).

Trade Marvin and Jefferson for worse players on expiring contracts and hope that you can maybe pick up something you actually want (pick, young player [even if not wildly promising]) in the process.

Why do people continue to bash what Golden State did?

nothing bad came of it. Golden State seems to be doing just fine.

Pretty much this.

I think trading those two should slow the Jazz just enough to properly tank.
