What's new

Im buying Westbrook stock.

I think I got it.

They don't have a system, except for the system they got which really isn't a system the way you're supposed to think of a system, but instead is a different kind of system that isn't really a system at all, but you have to call it something, so why not call it a system.

I think you have got it.

I'm right there with you. However, I see a lot of Westbrook name in mouth syndrome too. Everything he does will be overscrutinized with faults real or perceived blown out of proportion. Most these guys with the dark cloud deserve at least a little of this scrutiny, if not all of it and more. What annoys me the most though is ESPN's determination to talk about the T.O.'s of the sporting world when the majority of us just don't give a damn. They have to create controversy and stir the pot. Yeah, Westbrook does some stupid ****, but it looks to me like he's trying to correct his weaknesses. Last season everyone was talking about how he's a chemistry killer and a thorn in the lockerroom. Unsubstantiated, but okay, maybe they were right then. If they were then Westbrook has fixed that fault. There's no reason to believe he's not trying to be a team player at this point.

But I do wish he'd learn to play inside an offense. It's frustrating watching guys who could dominate if they would simply run to the right spots.

If I'm not mistaken, I just read recently how Westbrook has voiced his malcontent for Brooks' inability or unwillingness to "run plays" designed to get the ball to Durant and Harden through him.

When OKC want or need to they can run plays just as well as SAS which they proved recently. And don't fool yourself tagging SAS basketball as 'smart' system and OKC's ball - pure ISO. Majority of amazing SAS basketball is breaking down defenses by simple pick-n-rolls done by highly talented players. All that extra passing is just a cherry on the top because all is done against already broken and confused defense. Triangle and Flex have much more 'system' in them then whatever SAS and OKC run and it's funny to hear how people try to contrapose those two.

The bad part is that when the ISO player gets cold, everyone else is cold too because they haven't had a chance to score.

Miami avoids that problem more because they have Lebron who is probably the best pure passer behind Rondo, Nash, Paul, and Williams.

Ya I guess. I know what you are saying, and I think there is truth to it. However, if you are supposed to be that good, and you are paid handsomely. Shouldnt you be ready and able to play like that a little bit? No excuses right? Be ready.
Westbrook was on fire last night. The right move was to keep going through him. That was a show he was putting on. And when a guy is going like that you get out of the way.

I think its a little too much crticism for people to put the failure of last nights game on Westbrook. Its just too much to expect him to play perfect. He darn near was last night.

Something no one is talking about is when that idiot Fisher tried to take over the game with that drive down the middle. That play hurt OKC as much as any of those other bad plays. There was also another play where Westbrook should have got the ball under the basket, but it was passed out to sefalosha(I think) for a jump shot. Westbrook was competing his *** off last night. When the rest of the team was a no show practically.

I really enjoyed watching Westbrook last night.. I wanted Westbrook to finish it off for some redemption. I felt bad for him the way it ended.

Too much criticism of Westbrook IMO.

What about Sir Harden?

That dude has been MIA for this entire series. His shot has been poor, decisions have been awful, defense has been stinky, and flopping to the max.

I think if he were just limited, that would be one thing. But I think his lack of competitive fire and ability to figure out Miami's defense is gonna cost him some money this offseason. Even Nick Collison has figured out ways to score against Miami.

Good question. I think Harden will be alright too, but I didnt expect him to be a no show.

See, and that's the thing.

Both Durant and Westbrook have had ups and downs... Which is something that you would expect from nearly everyone in a series.

But Harden has been mostly down. I think he had a small stretch in game 2 where he kinda showed up.

But the rest of this series he has literally looked about as good as rookie Alec Burks playing against the Heat. And even then, I think Burks could have given OKC more positives than Harden has given them this series.

35 percent shooting... Down from nearly 50 percent against SA and 49 percent for the season....
29 percent 3 point shooting... Down from 60 percent against SA and 39 percent for the season...
11 points down from 19 against SA and 17 for the season...

Yet, everyone is blaming Westbrook... Who has exploded from his SA series and season averages...

When OKC loses this thing (probably tonight) they have no one to blame but Harden and their underachieving frontline. Collison has looked far better than Perkins and Mr. Lebron sucks at defense (Ibaka). Westbrook, Durant, Sefolosha, and Collison have showed up. No one else has. Maybe they're still celebrating their wins against SA?

They need to play Sefalosha more on James. Everyone else on the Thunder get to worn out and it effects their offensive performance.
