What's new

I'm sure this is a dumb question re: BYU and Utah.

Isn't Utah supposed to be pretty decent? Especially down low? Isn't BYU weak down low as Davies graduated? I have no idea who is supposed to take his place. Certainly not that 6'10" 95 lbs lurp from Lone Peak, right?

Besides, As long as BYU has Carlino, the Monta Ellis of the NCAA, Utah will have a chance.

Cool, thanks. I'm assuming most reasonable fans believe that BYU will be favored?

BYU is probably favored, but it should be closer than it's been the last few years. Utah is improving and I suspect they will continue to do so.

Are you mixing sports?

BYU has beat Utah in bball 11 of 12 in the last 7 years.

That's the crazy thing, right? We are on a basketball board so it's quite possible that a lot of the BYU/Utah fans here might even care about that realm more. So who owns who? I like both sports fairly equally(and probably side with basketball simply because I know BYU gets a fair shot at the end of the year to win it all if they have a good year) so I can't exactly go along with the BYU fans that turn into Utah boot lickers on here.

What state is Utah in again?

13 of 14 nonconference games at home...Only @BSU and vs. BYU are notable opponents.

And Utah will still probably not be over .500 going into conference play.

Wow, that is a favorable schedule. I do believe 3 of those that were counted were other teams playing in the Utah classic or whatever that is, but still 12 of 13 is pretty laid out.

Back to BYU, they will be playing Stanford, Oregon, Iowa State, Utah State, Wichita St/Depaul, Texas, UMass... could be a rough non-conference... or great if they win.
