Im way excited for tonight's Jazz game

People talking about Neto... who looked good. Not seeing much about Burke. He's had two decent preseason games and two meh games. He's looked good in a small sample size. I'm not sure why we are still moving him for other stuff. Unless a clear upgrade comes up it looks like we can roll with Burke/Neto/3-4 wing lineup.

The two things I'd be looking at if I was DL is a clear upgrade at point guard and a better third big. I think Booker is fine, but if we could find a better option that stretches the floor it is clearly something we are lacking. I am worried that an injury to Favs would kill our season. Lyles isn't ready. Depth/versatility at the four is a small issue imo.

Also, Withey should be our backup center. I'm impressed with him. Tibor may be good in time, but right now it ain't pretty.

Good post and I agree. If favors goes down then we might need to try small ball with gobert, hayward, hood, burks, and trey

Really, anyone who watched him play at the end of last year. I was actually surprised the Jazz got him on the cheap like the did in the off-season. I thought he had lit up enough teams around the league to have had the market drive up his worth a little. I'm pleased that he's back for the next couple of years, he's really solid off the bench. Plus, he's a good bloke and I imagine glue type in the locker room. Not to mention mentor for the younger guys.

It was his first game in 10 days. You have to get in game shape for the season.

Easing a player in is a better option. Also you don't get deconditioned after 10 days. I don't see any reason to push your star player and risk injury just to win a preseason game, especially the overtime minutes they didn't plan on.

Preseason is the only thing Portland fans can get excited about. Not like the Blazers are trying to save players for the playoffs.

The main thing Burke was killed for his first season was his defense(and rightfully so). Watching him this preseason he's playing acceptable defense so far in the preseason. That isn't being talk about. It's the most impressive improvement from him if he keeps it up.
 
My favorite part was Burke just lighting up Lillard offensively. Lillard is Kanter-like defensively. I'm glad he is not the cornerstone of our franchise. If Burke can do that to him, imagine what really good pgs are going to do to him night in and night out.
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see McCollum be better than Lillard pretty soon. Lillard is a high volume, sometimes pretty low percentage shooter who really doesn't do much else. McCollun looks to be a better pure shooter who can score, but may be a better passer/playmaker for teammates and plays some defense. Yesterday and there were times last year where it was CJ who was the more effective, dangerous player.

Signs point to him having a breakout year. He was a monster in the playoffs last year and having a nice preseason.

I'm shocked at how poorly Lillard plays defense. His stance is way off; his understanding/recognition seems poor; his effort is ****. I can't stand watching that kind of crap.
