I get what he was trying to do but it seems silly and failed miserably. He put pressure on Philly to hit FT's and wanted to make sure time ran out on a final shot. It was coming down to one last shot anyway so I guess not chancing a long rebound miss makes sense. I'd rather have the extra two-three seconds and a shot at being down by only one than less time and down by two or three.

I understand too, but if you are going to go that route, start as soon as the ball is inbounded, not 10 seconds after the fact.
