What's new

In the interest of perpetuating bad trade ideas...

Murray is gonna badass.

To me Murray is the clear #3 in this draft. I see him providing the same type of floor spacing that Redick/Thompson/Korver provide but he seems like he can also attack a close out and get to the rim.

Give him 3 years in the NBA and he'll be scary good. That's just my opinion.

My assumption is Hayward WILL end up in Boston. We should get ahead of that.

Jazz trades;
Burke
Hayward
#12 pick

Boston trades;
I. Thomas
Jae Crowder
#23

We pick up Thon Maker and see if we have our HOMERUN.
We get to have a nice PG while Dante gets his legs.
Crowder would be a nice enforcer.

We lose Hayward, but I believe we are going to anyway and we pick up a couple nice contracts.
Oh... And we save almost $6M/.

Looking at this trade...
Hayward > thomas but only by a little bit.
Crowder >> burke
#12 > #23

Not a horrible trade imo but I wouldn't do it.

I wonder if we could package our three 2nd round picks for a late 1st rounder to grab Thon. Or if there's a late 1st round pick that we could buy from someone (Spurs) trying to pull some salary cap gymnastics to make a run at KD.

I'm all for trading fools gold. Hayward is a poor man's Westbrook. No, a broke man's. I like the guy, but he has expressed his thoughts of going championship chasing, so isn't it a done deal at this point if we don't somehow get lucky landing a big name FA?

First time I've ever heard Hayward and Westrbrook compared in any sense. You really see similarities?

Id make the trade because I think Thomas is very good and you could play Exum and him together
Murray I don't see him being an all star level ever. To slow. Needs to go work out with Reggie Miller, rip Hamilton and learn how to come off and use the screens. He is never going be able to dribble and pull up in the NBA. Just don't see him as a star. He has the body frame he can get stronger. Body wise he reminds me of Nick Anderson a little bit. Stocky and big shoulders but Nick was a beast and I have not seen that out of Murray.

Both are not the most efficient and cannot lead a team. It obv wasn't a 1:1 comparison.
Lol. So you are calling Hayward a broke man's inefficient player who cannot lead a team? Harsh.

Although in some ways I'd think that the less good a player is at being inefficient and lacking leadership, the better.

Hayward's not worth $30M.
He's not particularly good at shooting 3's.
There's a HUGE risk of him leaving.

I'm all for getting a good return on him before he bolts, especially if 2017 picks are part of the deal.

Sign or draft a SF to replace him or get that player in the trade.

I like stitches plan too.
Hayward and 12
For
Nick and 2

... And there's some rumors that Ingram may come off the board leaving Simmons at 2.

No chance. Brett Brown coached Simmons' dad, has known Ben since birth and coached him as well. They have a close relationship.

Did that surgery go poorly or are you just no longer in the loop?

Who is Brett Brown? That is all that one needs to know.. This isn't Pop or Phil Jackson. Just because he knows Simmons means very little. Brown most likely will not be the coach in Philly in 2 years anyway.. They could take Simmons but to mark it in stone because the coach coached his pops is just plain silly
