He's a total ***** if he doesn't divorce her. Lots of kids go through divorce and most of the time they end up just fine. My parents divorced at age five.
It be cool to have a Jerry Springer Jazzfanz episode, something like "Troutbum has been sleeping with Archie Moses's Wife for the last 5 years" or "PKM has an affair with 19 year old Muslim".

Your idea of what's embarrassing is interesting. I'd be more concerned about the video where you attempt to rap.
The fact that he still hasn't taken it down out of pure shame says all that needs to be said.

Candrew you ask how posters would handle this and I have to say we have seen some wide variations of decision making in what has to be one of the toughest situations a person would ever encounter.
My concern would be for your brother-in-law's mental health and sense of self. Is that intact? If it's not, then I'd imagine it would be pretty impossible for him to heal and provide the necessary environment for his children to thrive, which it sounds like is his highest priority. I'd hope he realizes that his happiness, confidence and sense of self are central to raising his children and if he can't find those things with his current wife, he needs to find those asap.
What a crappy situation, there are no easy decisions and obviously it's much more complicated than we will ever know.
