Iran wants trump dead, and might be behind the two failed assassination attempts

Immorality, corruption, scandal in the president may not matter in regards to governing/legislation/policy/etc (though I tend to disagree with that) but it certain matters to the perception of our country, which does matter to me. It also matters to the mentality of the citizens of the country. If the president is an immoral, corrupt, scandalous, combative, devisive leader then that energy those characteristics will trickle down to infect the citizens as well. All of us have seen this many many times over the last 8 years.

Yet you vote for the guy who literally tried to overthrow a democratic election, promised to us by this constitution that you hold so dear.
You should read it. The constitution promises no such thing. The term "democracy" is not used a single time in either the constitution or declaration of independence. The US constitution actually hates democracy. Every one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights is there to thwart democracy.

Is that how you see the Harris / Biden administration that has been in power for the past 4 years? Is that what you believe has motivated would-be assassins to kill the political opposition?

I disagree. Trump may be surfing the waves, but the people made the storm all on their own.

So you are in favor of Trump trying to overthrow a democratic election then?

You wish it had worked and wouldn’t mind if he did it again?

trump has had the loudest voice and largest influence in American politics over the last 8 years. It ain't about power. You yourself said the president has no power.
trumps rhetoric, immorality, vitriol, divisiveness, scandalous combative treacherous scumbag douchey nature is what motivated the would be assassins.
trump does his damage to society simply by being in the discussion.

Let's say trump gave up politics after losing the last election and didn't make a big fuss about his loss. Currently it is Nikki Hailey vs Biden or Harris. The division, anger, hate, combativeness, rhetoric, hyperbole, etc of American society would be much less than it currently is.

That depends on what you are referring to.

I am in favor of having the legality of emergency provisions that affected the system of counting votes challenged in a court of law. The flurry of lawsuits from the Trump team after the 2020 election, I viewed them as not only justified, but good for America.

I disapprove strongly of the scheme to use fake electors.

I think the riot at the Capitol on January 6th was horrible and monumentally stupid if the goal was to support Trump, but also made no difference. The Electoral College vote happened in December. If anything, it proved how robust our Electoral College system is.

I've never said the US President has no power. The President does have power but only the power the US Constitution had granted to the holder of that office. The US Constitution is king. The President is only a minister of the Executive Branch under the US Constitution.

I've also said the President doesn't make much difference in my life. I do fine when Democrats hold the office and I do fine when Republicans hold the office. I thank the US Constitution for limiting how wildly any single office holder, even one as powerful as the US President, can swing things. The system is a true work of art cobbled together a quarter of a millennia ago. It isn't perfect but I haven't seen a better system yet.

Dress it up however you want, but look at what you are just hand waving away…

I wish a Trump supporter could explain it in someway that doesn’t sound completely insane to me. But saying he did a fake electoral scheme that challenged the very foundation of our electoral systems, BUT it didn’t work so who cares? I mean, we will never see eye to eye if that’s how you argue Trumps merits.

That is not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that it couldn't work. What Trump was trying to do had no possibility of overthrowing anything, and since then the system has been further reinforced via the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act.

I'm saying the hysterics over democracy almost being lost are just that: hysterics.

Mind elaborating? What exactly was Trump trying to do, by your own admission?

This candidate you are about to vote for again.
