IRS Targeting Right Wing Groups

Did anyone notice that the articles have said that the Attorney General has not looked at the evidence yet? Maybe we should wait until the evidence is looked at before concluding that the IRS did anything terrible!
Oh , 1B did not quote this? Hmmm interesting.... seems like deficient posting to me.

Maybe we should wait for evidence before assuming these groups did. But you have no interest in real discussion. Just trolling. Please continue.

One Brow:
"the tax-exemption for donations is what these groups are waiting for"
..

I believe you are wrong. That is why you should use quotes instead of vague references to piles of information.

I was the one that actually pointed out this important piece of information. You want the discussion to avoid important information apparently. Just read the headlines, no need to go farther. Good job.

"Contributions to 501(c)(4) organizations are usually not deductible as charitable contributions for U.S. federal income tax, with a few exceptions"

SUCK IT dumb as rocks know it all

Edit: read this post as a follow up to post #158, 2 above.

Vague reference, hard to say exactly what you mean here, but I have already provided plenty of evidence in this thread, if you mean what I think you mean.... but don't let little details like that get in your way.

Since when did evidence ever matter in a conversation with you?

Well, its over , you guys got what you wanted. IRS agents are losing their jobs and about to be dragged through the ringer with the threat of jail time for just trying to do their jobs. It's now open season on abusing campaign laws, you won't hear a peep from the IRS. At least 2 of the 3 branches of government now dance to the whims and hysteria of Comedy Central and Fox News.

..., and that the tax-exemption for donations is what these groups are waiting for.

This was an error on my part. These organizations were waiting to get the IRS to approve their 510c4 status, even though they did not need to wait, and the IRS did not inform them that they did not need to wait. Instead, they were jerked around.

don't think so, but whateve...
burn the witches!
all hail Colbert and O'Reilly, the true Gods of our time!!!!

PS: so you are saying that the Tea Party was planning on having prospective members deduct this on their taxes, but they were unaware that this was not allowed? and how many millions count themselves as tea party folk? including how many lawyers, accountants, congressmen, political consultants , lobbyists? these people don't have internet access or network with each other?

hmmmm.... and are we sure that they aren't going to deduct the donations then, even if they aren't supposed to? and the IRS is going to follow up on this right? at what expense ? and the IRS members are scared to lose their jobs and even go to jail now for questioning anything a right wing political organization does? awesome.

they were jerked around.
Most of the examples I've seen of the questions they were asked seem pretty reasonable to me.
They just were upset that they were being asked to provide information about whether or not they were political campaign organizations masquerading as social interest groups, and they decided they'd rather whine and cry and yell instead of just answering the damn questions.

So what? As you pointed out, the questions were irrelevant. These groups can self-claim 501c4 status, regardless of the answers to the questions. Asking any questions at all is just jerking them around.

So you are saying all the congressman who write the laws and are tea party members have no idea what the laws are. Keep making stuff up.
