why should political groups applications not receive more scrutiny than nonpolitical groups when the primary criteria for tax exempt status is that the group not be a political group?
If they genuinely believe that lower taxes is better for the general welfare, and most of their money go to advertising that, they are a social welfare group. That's the law.

No evidence has been given that groups are being targeted because they are conservative.
More likely they are being targeted because they are political.
Show me evidence that the other groups applying are just as political in nature and name.
Maybe 80% of the political groups applying for tax exempt status happen to be conservative.
