What's new

Is Evans pretty much a lock to make the roster at thispoint?

Nice photo. And it looks like plenty of people attended the game. I wonder if that's normal for preseason.

It was about this full ;)

Only in the second round. Deron has been the only real success in recent years in the first round and the jury is still out for Hayward.

It is really hard to go wrong with a top 3 pick though, especially considering how deep that draft of 05 was. Taking Deron, Paul or Bogut would have been just fine with the Jazz. You could have even taken Lee or Granger or Felton with the 6th pick that year if we didn't move up and be just fine now.

Yeah, Brewer wasn't the best, but definitely not a "bust". He produced for us just fine in his short time with the Jazz. Maynor was traded so we could dump Harp's contract. Every team has a few busts and as you get later in the first round they are more likely to be busts.

AK was also a first round pick, while he hasn't been the most elite talent in the league, he still is one of the best players we've ever drafted.

After 20,000+ posts here, has anyone ever called you out for being fake as ****?

Seriously people, the **** he posts is so ridiculous its almost funny.....and racist......and stupid......and......smart?

I don't think it's funny at all. I think he is a douchebag who spews racist filth constantly. Serious thumbs down to that piece of ****.

For me, the only real recent "busts" have been Snyder and Humphries. It's always a crap shoot late in the 1st, especially if you try to go big. Maynor was a good pick. Koufos certainly looked like one of the BPA's at the time. Almond could have been a very good player in the league, but he just didn't want to play defense (or pass the ball). Brewer was solid, although looking back, his unfixable shooting mechanics should have been a huge red flag.

That 2004 draft was a real killer. Having the 14th and 16th and getting nothing out of them...Then again, it led to a horrible season and the eventual drafting of Deron.

Go back even further and you can't fault the Jazz too much: Sasha turned out to be a decent player. I thought Borchardt was a good risk. Jazz were trying to make a final run w/Stockton and Malone and, if healthy, Curtis could have made a huge difference.

Time will tell if the Jazz made the right choice with Hayward. Unfortunately, the draft had about five solid picks and then the rest seemed like a huge drop-off. Out of the players who were left at #9, I think Hayward has shown as much potential as anyone else.

I would have to say they bought their talent. There last find Michael Beasley, hasnt quite panned out like they would have wanted.

To be fair, he was pretty much accepted league wide as the 2nd best player of the draft, most teams would of picked him 2nd, hell some probably would of even taken him 1st overall.
