What's new

Is Favors in the long-term plans at this point?

Or he and Gobert switch finishing depending on who is needed more. Need offense play Favors, need defense well obviously Rudy is your guy. Need both, who having the better game/matchup.
No, Gobert is better at both things. Favors is just better at certain things offensively, but overall offensive impact Gobert is still superior. Rubio just has to learn you can throw bounce passes at his knees.

I really like favors. But this team sucks with Rubio, favors and gobert. Rubio probably just doesn't fit this team, so maybe we should trade him, but if I were Derrick, I'd be going to the Mavs or Atlanta or some other team that needed a center.

Gobert is not better on offense than Favors. He is good at lobs, and rebounds. That's about it. Has no offensive moves, can't beat anybody one on one. Can't post up. I don't really think it's close, Favors is the better offensive player.

The 4 can only close games if Rubio is also on the bench. Favors, Gobert and Rubio are a very poor combo on the floor together.

That needs to change. Favors is a superior offensive player and Gobert is easily eliminated on those rolls to the basket. Teams have figured that play out.

Wasn't Rudy pretty much the best roll player in the league last year ??

Wut??? Rudy is a great offensive player. Why would you want him to post up or create one-on-one? Those are low percentage plays. Let him roll and dunk. He is a great finisher with either hand (not only lobs), so good that he gets other teammates open in the corners. He's also an underrated passer. His ft% has also improved dramatically.

Favors is better at catching the ball in traffic (and while rolling) and has a soft touch around the rim but he doesn't make the whole defense collapse like Gobert does

Because teams were leaving Rubio and Favors open to eliminate the roll. A Gobert roll is deadly when surrounded with adequate shooters. It takes Rudy one step to go around his man or to get all the way to the rim. He is also an elite screener.

Also an elite screener. He does a lot of the less glamorous things that make the offense run well.

Dude, Rudy was literally one of the top two players in offensive efficiency last year. Just because he isn't big Al with post moves doesn't mean he isn't a good offensive player.

Maybe study a little bit about offensive gravity in basketball and why it matters.

Cool, moves.

Gobert is super tall and can dunk. He does that really well and is one of the most efficient offensive players.
