Is Favors in the long-term plans at this point?

This 100%. If Derrick Favors isn’t going to get PAID on the open market, I’d rather see the Jazz keep him and then tag team him and Rudy to always have a dominant big man on the court. Plus, it’ll take away some of the wear and tear of a long, grinding season having both guys + Udoh.
Oh, Favors is not staying. That is near 100% guarantee.

Probably right. And I expect him to be traded. I’d just love to see what this team looks like through this rough December stretch if Rudy gets healthy and the only time Gobert and Favors are out there together, Rubio is on the bench and Mitchell, Hood/Burks, and Jingles share the court with them. Stagger them at the 5 and give both Rudy and Derrick a plethora of shooters around them for 40 minutes or so.

So Jerebko has a 132 ORTG... I'm fairly sure he is one of the main reasons the offense has taken off... Favs maybe a better offensive center than Rudy, but not by a lot and I honestly think Rudy is a little better.

So lets stop this Rudy bogs down the offense stuff.

People quickly forget that Hill/Ingles/Hayward/Favors/Gobert was a frequent 5-man lineup for us last year and was REALLY REALLY good. It's not Favors, it's NEW PIECES STILL ADJUSTING TO ONE ANOTHER.

Don't get fooled, guys. Favors is playing great and the team struggled when Gobert was healthy... but the recent success is to a huge degree spurred by hot shooting stretch(we are shooting about 45% from 3 the last 5-6 games). This is not sustainable. We also have been playing in a relatively easy stretch of the schedule. This type of shooting will not continue and when it stops we will need Gobert's defense.
It's bloody obvious that the offense is generating much more open shots. Like waaaay. I'm not 100% explaining that away by saying "ease of the schedule" and neither should you.

Not at all. Provide an idea of how a Rubio/Favors/Gobert lineup can work after "adjusting"
I’d start either Favors or Gobert (matchup based) at the 5 with Jerebko, Jingles, Mitchell and Rubio to begin with (since that’s been working fairly well lately). I sub out Jerebko and Rubio for the other of Gobert/Favors and Hood.

Gobert, Favors, Jingles, Hood and Mitchell get a good look together at least twice every game from now until the trade deadline.

Aside from that, I stagger Gobert/Favors at the 5 and give Jerebko, Sefalosha and JJ (once he’s healthy) the remaining 4 minutes. Rubio can play with any of those lineups as long as some combination of Jingles, Mitchell, Hood and (good) Burks is out there with them.

Udoh’s minutes get dinged, but I keep him in case either of Gobert or Favors needs more rest or a night off to stay healthy and fresh.

Thanks for actually providing a plan, but there's only 48 center minutes a game. If Favors is going to get 25-30 minutes he's going to have to play 10-15 as a 4 w/ Gobert and/or Udoh. Now if the plan is to only play Rubio when only one of those 2 is on the court then that's fine.

Again, I would not make any move before February. I just think a lot of the offensive criticisms fall on Favors/Gobert front court where I would shift the target to a Rubio/Favors/Gobert trio.

Rubio was arguably our best player for the first 10 games of the season -- despite the super short training camp and challenging opening schedule. Ten games later, and after an injury to our best player, etc., the general consensus seem to be that Rubio is trash and has reached is ceiling with the rest of the components.

Praise JFC. smfh.

I like Rubio. I don't like Rubio/Favors/Gobert trio or really even Rubio/Gobert duo, pretty simple concept.
