There are a lot of examples of standing up for yourself without being ejected. Getting a tech or giving up free throws I think are a small price to pay especially in the 2nd quarter of a non playoff game.
Sending a message does not require Gordo to challenge West to an MMA fight nor does it mean he throws a punch and I doubt he becomes the Ron Artest of the league.

What is sending a message?
Walking up to West with his chest out like he is about to fight, but not actually fighting?
Pretty much everyone realizes how ridiculous of a practice this is and just makes fun of NBA's fake fights.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (So did the Indiana Pacers) missed teh playoffs by 1 game this year. To say there are "meaningless" regular season games is foolish.
For sure next time someone puts their finger in your ear you don't just walk away with your hands up.
So a technical foul would be the difference between making the playoffs and not? I think that is unlikely.
Yes, I think he can stick up for himself without actually turning it into an mma fight as with nearly every scuffle in the NBA these are not going to be knock down drag outs.
What would you do?
What would you do?
Well im different, I'd probably put my finger up his ***.
