I always thought that hire was to 1 - shut Malone up and/or 2 - keep Hornacek from taking Malone to Phoenix with him in a similar capacity thereby opening the door for him to take pot shots at Jazz Management.

Karl was a bully, so he should be working with Hayward. In this new era of stretch 4's, I'm not sure how much help Karl can be. Besides, I'm sure he wants Enes to keep very far away from his daughter.
