Is Pulp Fiction the greatest film ever?

I've tried to create a top 10 list before, pretty much impossible, even when you aren't ranking within the top 10.

Same. That's why the list I provided is more of a "movies that I love that come to mind" than a top 10 list. Also, I just counted, and it had 13 movies.

The Big Lebowski
Troll 2
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Superbad
The Holy Mountain
Oldboy (Korean version of course)
Taxi Driver
Repo Man
Evil Dead II

I would say the biggest thing about most movies for me to be considered "top" material is replay ability. Most of my favorite movies have it. Pretty much the only one that doesn't is Oldboy, but that twist blew my mind more than any other movie I have ever seen.

Top 10 comedies in no particular order

The Big Lebowski
Caddyshack
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Anchorman
Superbad
48 Hours
There's Something About Mary
Stripes
Bad Santa
Borat

The Sixth Sense is what turned me into a movie lover, so it will always have a special place in my heart. And it has an unbeatable atmosphere. Stand by me was my favorite movie growing up, and it carries a lot of sentimental value. Still a great movie when I watch it today.

Problem for me with Sixth Sense like Cy said is its replay-ability... once you've seen the ending you wouldn't want to watch it again.

Stand By Me I've seen 10+ times so for me it probably suffered from being too repetitive.

Watching #1 now because of how strongly you feel about it.

Even if you're not a Christian I think one could appreciate the cinematography, direction, make up, etc..

What if there was a movie with similar cinematography, direction, make up, etc... that was all about the glory, the pain, the suffering and ultimate sacrifice that is anal intercourse? Would you want to sit through that?

Is that not 50 Shades of Grey?

*Never seen the movie so idk*
