All I really have for the start of this thread is

Operation Midnight Hammer?

Sounds like the title of a dodgy porn film.
 
A mate of mines wife and kids are over in Europe, he's worried about how they fly back.

God knows where Iran will strike? Its likely going to be a terror attack of some sort, the question is where and how and against who? US? UK? God knows.

If Iran manages an attack on US soil it will give Trump a pretext to suspend a heap more freedoms.

The last line is exactly it. Trump wants to destabilize American society and the American economy so he can claim emergency presidential powers and then never give up the presidency since he will ensure we are in a constant state of emergency. The same way the Roman emperors were given power by the Senate and then just kept that power. Trump envisions doing exactly the same. There will be no need to change the Constitution to allow him to run for a third term, he will just abolish the vote in the name of national security.

I want to say something before I get back to my normally scheduled hate for DJT and MAGA.

The operation using B-2 bombers was pretty amazing. They left Missouri and flew non-stop to the target in Iran, with a refuelling or two, then flew back home, again with a refuelling or two. They were never fired upon. As far as we know they were never detected.

No other nation could have done any of the parts of this operation.

Most nations overestimate their nation's military capabilities but the U.S. almost always downplays what we can do until it's time to show it in action.

If the attack was successful and Iran is out of the nuclear game then I think it was the right thing to do.

I don't think Trump did the right thing as part of some methodical scheme. I think he was upset about Russian asset Tucker Carlson clowning on Trump's camp so he said "F you!" to Tucker and bombed Iran. Like the petty little child that he is.
