It's been too long since we Trade 4 Rondo

Trade machine won't load for me.

But I like it.

Rondo / Rush / Hayward / Kanter / Favors

can we figure that out?
 
Sounds crazy... but... Boston did sell everything else, why not the kitchen sink.

He might be a bit better than Jimmer, I admit.
 
Rondo and Wallace 4 Trey, Beeds, Jefferson. Crash's contract is three long years and he fell off last season hard.

Adding the Jazz 1st this year would be overpaying IMO, and Celtics use add draft position by subtracting Rondo so there's incentive even if direct value is not equal. They also have $23mm in cap room compared to zero.

This is risk for both teams. One, it allows the Jazz to replace Kanter with a kid that the Jazz liked. Two, the Jazz give up a pick that will probably be in the range of an Olynyk-level player. So, they are then trading Kanter for Rondo.

Personally, I would rather have Kanter than Favors, but I think Favors fits with Rondo better (running the break and P&R). So I kept Favors.

I think the biggest downside to this trade is that I don't think Rondo is good enough to make the Jazz a title contending team, but I do think he is good enough to get us in the 7-10 range, and that would defeat the purpose of this year. If the Jazz were going to get a player like Rondo, they should have kept Millsap and gone after a legit shooter (although Rush could be that guy).

I think they have a shot at a better player if they suck than if they trade for Rondo. If Boston wants to trade Rondo at the end of the year...then I go for it. Could you imagine this:

Rondo - Burke
Hayward - Burks
Wiggins - Williams
Favors - FA
Kanter - Gobert

That is a pretty dang good team.

I wouldn't cuz TB3 = BJ n stuff. Makes u think doe.

No it doesn't. Rondo is not healed from injury and could be Derrick Rose'd. Trading Burke for him makes the tank even better.

Also, if we had Rondo and got lucky in the Wiggins lottery then this team should be a magnet for a third star.
