What's new

It's official! Dante, Motum make the cut, will play in World Championship

You basically say Australia can play in semi final. That is simply impossible.
Brazil, France,Serbia, Spain,USA,Lithuania,Greece,Slovenia and even Turkey are all better and more experienced than Australia. A top 10 team at best, in terms of player quality.

We'll see. I'm just going purely of what I see on a quick roster by roster blow by. Not claiming I really know too much about International basketball. It probably helps that I'm familiar with about 80% of Australia's roster and not so much with the Serbia/Slovenia/Lithuanias of the world. Croatia even looks better to me than 3 or 4 of those teams you listed, but they are fairly young.

Btw, who's the best player or the go to guy?
Newley, Ingles?
Roles are pretty uncertain as well.

Many good college players play in European leagues. Brad Newley, Brokehoff, Jon Diebler are fan favorites here in Turkey.
Brokehoff plays for Beşiktaş. He teamed up with likes of Sundiata Gaines, Colton Iverson etc. Same thing with Brad Newley, i watched him live couple times. They're certainly good players but those players are not even Euroleague caliber excluding current NBA guys and Joe Ingles. Jawai was playing for my favorite team Galatasaray, Turkey and he was out for season because of heart problems. David Andersen used to be an elite player in Europe, not anymore. Absence of Patrick Mills is the vital point. He would lead the team.

I'd say top 8 at best, but yeah realistically will be in the 8 - 12 range, but look out in a few years, we could be 5 - 8 range with the guys coming through

How is Brokehoff doing over there? I remember watching him a lot as a sleeper in the 2nd round his last year in school. He reminded me of a less athletic Hayward. Thought he had a chance to get drafted, but performed poorly vs. Michigan St. in their NCAA Tourney game.

Turkish league could be considered as top 3-4 in Europe with Spain,Russia and maybe one other european league. You remember Scottie Reynolds? He played for my city's team Antalya after he cut from the Jazz with college teammate Corey Fisher. Team finished 14th among 16 teams and avoided relegation with a win in last game.

Brokehoff was not outstanding but gave his best and had some nice games.Fans love him soo much. Colton Iverson was awful. Gaines got cut after a month. Brokehoff has one more year in his contract but most probably he'll be on a Euroleague team's roster in 2 years. He was not a sensetion but he'll be better in his 2nd year as a pro. This year former Celtic Jajuan Johnson will play alongside him. Beşiktaş is not a contender in Turkey by the way. Mid table team.

Croatia as well. They played quite well in Eurobasket. Fun to watch Saric play.
