What's new

Ive been wavering on Jabari, but this seals it.

He seems like a hard worker. But the fact that this draft has not motivated him enough to lose weight is puzzling.
Get down to 230 and he will be OK at the 3. If he stays chubby then I don't want him. He can't be consistent being a stretch 4. He can be very good at the 3 if he slims up.
Blows me away that someone like him that works so hard (according to news reports) doesn't get in peak shape to play the 3.

If you take the heavily processed foods out of this meal (replace the white rice with a fermented grain of some sort, and make sure the tea doesn't have ****loads of sugar), then there is absolutely nothing unhealthy or overly fattening.

It's also worth mentioning that most of what you see here are not traditional polynesian foods. but, yeah, keep over-playing the genetics argument. BTW: it's the food's fault, not the Polynesians.

It's called a joke there tough guy. Lol

Everything I've read on him says he weighs 241. Not sure I'm going to belive a Bucks article.

Jabari just wants to eat his way to Utah. Everywhere he goes, those nice Relief Society ladies give him "funeral potatoes" and Jello salad topped with lots of whipped cream.

I sure hope there are at least 4 NBA GMs who are as dumb as this thread consensus. Probably not, though.

Doesn't faze me.

Deron Williams had weight issues at Illinois, too. It's not a good weight to be at, but once it's his full-time job and he's paid millions of dollars and works with elite nutritionists/strength and conditioning coaches, he'll manage it. I don't see it being a long-term issue.

Sure hope teams 1-4 do, though...

Let me get this straight. He's had three months to get into the best shape of his life and try to ensure he maxes his money and he clearly has not done so, but yet once he gets paid millions he'll suddenly find the drive and work ethic needed to improve his conditioning in order to compete at a high level in the NBA?

Makes sense.

This. Parker is Paul Pierce. Except simply not as good.

He's nothing like Pierce if you compare them when Pierce came into the league. I don't know what his weight was but he was rather slender. And Pierce was more of a defensive player than an offensive player with great lateral movement then. He wasn't a poor shooter, but his shooting developed as he gained more experience.

Pierce has a crafty game just like Parker has and neither have ever been in remotely great shape. His offensive style of play is very similar. Defensively yes they are different.

Lebron weighs north of 250 and looking at him I would be shocked if he was under 10 percent body fat. Frankly I think lebron would be injured a lot more if he got his body fat down lower. 11 percent body fat is a good number to play physical basketball. Shooting guard would want to be less but they dont take the abuse a forward does.

What ridiculous overreaction.

If anything i'm ENCOURAGED by this news. If he's that good and quick with that much weight then if he slimmed up a bit then he will be nothing short of spectacular.

I'm 100% in favor of us trading for the #1 pick and taking him.
