Analysts widely projected Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon to the St. Louis Rams in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Blackmon instead, and that is looking like a good thing for St. Louis after authorities in Oklahoma charged the rookie with aggravated DUI.

If Blackmon indeed registered a .24 percent blood-alcohol level, as reported, a reasonable person can look at his 2010 DUI arrest and fear a problem more serious than a simple (but serious) lapse in judgment from a 22-year-old.

A man weighing as much as Blackmon (207 pounds) might have to consume 16 beers over a three-hour period to approach a .24 percent blood-alcohol reading.

16 beers in three hours to get a .24? Maybe if you never drink...that's like 5 drinks an hour, easily doable and I don't even drink that much anymore.

I guess in Utah, this sounds like a lot.

Huh? What does Utah have to do with any of this? You do realize it was a quote from the ESPN article, right?

You do also realize that he was triple the legal limit, right? So ummm yeah, not the smartest thing to do to drive that intoxicated at 3am, 60+ MPH in a 35, etc

But um yeah, continue on! Utah sucks, Mormons suck, etc....

.24 is DRUNK (and I drink), irresponsible (driving) and incredibly stupid (no explanation req'd).

.24 is really drunk, I'm just shocked he was that drunk after 16 beers in 3 hours. As a college athlete, he should be in better drinking condition than that.

Here ya man .. and I really do. I got no problem except the driving part.

Hantlers, I would like to challenge you to a contest on Jazzfanz pay per view. Everyone pays $10 to watch the livestream of you trying to drink 16 beers in 3 hours. If you succeed, you get to keep all of the PPV monies. If you fail, I get the cash. You down?

I would...except I don't drink anymore. Two years ago though, not a problem. I could down the first 10 in an hour easily and then just chill the next 2 hours...of course I drank heavily at least 4 nights a week back then. I had some issues.

Of course he's down .. it's only 5 drinks an hour, right? I mean, that's only a beer every 12 minutes for a little over 3 straight hours .. keys to the car, please .. I'muhkay.

Two years ago I could windmill dunk 10 ft. Jk jk, If you had drinking issues before then its a good thing you dont drink now. Just saying, 16 beers in 3 hours is a **** ton for anybody.

Wasn't easy man, had to stop hanging out with my friends who drank a lot and just get away from it for a while. Tough stuff to quit, I'm finally at a point where I can just have a beer or two and call it a night.

Naw, it ain't that bad. One of my roommates used to be able to finish off the majority of a 30 rack in a night, now that's a lot of beer. 16 is definitely doable though, I would usually only drink for like an hour or two before I blacked out, but if I paced myself, I could definitely do it in 3 hours.

I'm not talking about the drinking .. I'm talking about being in line for a professional contract, drinking like that, and driving. Foolz.
