What's new

Jake Heaps rumor.

Ya I drove to Mountain Crest every week to watch his games.

In other words, you're calling a player unimpressive who you've never seen play in person?

Let me ask you two more questions.

#1 Have you ever seen him play?
#2 If you have, who did you see him play against?

I saw Kuresa play on the television set a few times this past year. I liked everything about him except his size. Most sites have him listed at 6'0" and IMO that's being generous. Funny thing is, he looked almost like a replica of Riley Nelson during his time at Logan.

Don't be so obtuse. It is possible to know a ton about a kid without seeing him in person. How the hell would recruiters do their job otherwise? So get off that dead end argument or be declared a moron.

Anyway, I have seen him in person. I stood side by side BYU coaches at their 7-on-7 tourney last summer and watched Kuresa versus Bingham and some other team I can't remember. His WRs were amazing and the plays they run are dumb. His game works on the high school level (scrambling around pulling plays out of his ***). But I worry about it translating in college. But Doman likes him and I like Doman. But have heard plenty of other coaches concerned with his mechanics and the Mt Crest system.

So there you have it. If that's not good enough for you than so what. Have fun finding the coach that travelled to Mt Crest every week cuz it looks like that's what you're lookin for.

dont they kick people out for sleeping around at byu? the kicked out unga for knocking up his fiance. but byu sucks hope he dose get kicked out and ends up at another school. and i hope there hot chicks hes sleeping around with

I'll throw in my 2 scents (note: misspelled on purpose so quit neg repping me whoever you are). I graduated from Mountain Crest, still live in the area and know a lot of kids that played with Kuresa. I know that USU offered him after his junior year, but they were the only ones then. As far as what he'll do in college, it is anybody's guess. He could grow another 12 inches and be a legit 6' 4", or maybe he won't. The one I will say is he is a competitor. Did you ever see him after he got sacked? He wouldn't stay on the ground for more than a second no matter how bad he was hurting.

As for the kid in Nevada that put up crazy points, word is he signed with UNLV, even though he wanted to go to school in Utah (he is LDS).

Kuresa and Hill may turn out to be much to do about nothing. Kuresa is a short, 2-star recruit, and Hill isn't even listed at all by places like Rivals. I'm assuming both these guys will be going on missions, which means they'll be returning right around the time Heaps is set to announce he's leaving after his Junior year and entering the NFL Draft. The odds that either are the replacement at QB are very slim IMO. What little info I can find on McCoy Hill actually has him listed as a QB/WR. If that's the case, I wouldn't be shocked to see BYU line him up somewhere other than QB.

If one of the two actually turned out to be a suprise at QB my bet would be Kuresa only because he produced so much more at the High School level but in the end that could mean absolutely nothing.

Easily Kuresa's best attribute and what Doman likes best about him or any QB. Doman calls it "grit". He wants a gritty QB. That's how he played. I think Doman fell in love with that and figures he can coach Kuresa up for the other stuff. While I agree that grit is a huge component of being a good QB there needs to be some talent there and I don't think Kuresa has it on the D1 level. But I hope I'm wrong. Like I said, Doman has forgotten more about QBs then I'll ever know.
