Jamal Murray Injured

Any team that wins in the East is given an asterisk

NBA 2021 Eastern Conference Champions *
* Melo plays in the Western Conference, Eastern Conference Champions did not have to face him
But what if the Knicks play the Blazers in the finals, which I would think is the most likely outcome of the season... right?

When the Knicks and Blazers meet in the finals, it’s a result of Carmelo’s cumulative efforts with both franchises, and the league is going allow him the choice of which team he is going to consummate his championship aspirations with, and he will choose the Knicks.

There will be a thousand asterisks there.

The Knicks only successes ever came with an Asterix.

Sucky news for Denver and Jamal. It does improve our chances of coming out of the west meaningfully, methinks. If we win a championship and we go through the nuggets, all I will remember is that we won a championship.

The Nuggets 2-man game with Jokic/Murray is the only reason they beat Utah or the Clippers. They are absolutely ****ed.

Denver is set to play the Lakers in the 1st round currently.

Both Phoenix and Clippers are on hot streaks, so it seems unlikely Denver or LA will move into the top 3.

It's hard to see Portland or Dallas overtaking Denver or LA. Denver will be hurt, but they can still be a very good regular season team without Murray. LA has been playing surprisingly well without their stars.

Denver is absolutely ****ed.

Not much rest for players with playoff run. Only shortened the season by 10 games and managed to force All-star game into the mix. Loaded second half. Too many B2Bs.

Why aren't the physios on court as soon as the player is down? Why is a coach there before them?
Man, these things are going to happen regardless of how much you play. This can happen game 1 of the season or the last game of the season. Injuries happen regardless.

Phoenix playe 10 of 13 on the road to finish the season. Two of those home games are against the Jazz and Clippers. The Suns will be third or worse.

Seeding is looking pretty set, those last few playin spots still up in the air, but not super consequential (knock on wood).
1 Utah

2/3 Suns/Clippers

4/5 Nuggets/Lakers

6 Blazers

7 Mavs

8 Grizzlies
9 Spurs
10 Warriors
11 Pelicans

Would probably most like to see the Spurs of the bottom 4-some, but if we get seriously pushed by any of them then we weren't who we hoped we were (outside of maybe Steph/Dray re-capturing all the old magic). 2nd round against the Lakers will be prove it time.

Tell that to Deron Williams' ankles.
I dont get your point. D-Will's ankles got ****ed cuz he kept playing on them and he played a heavier weight than he probably should have.

Injuries dont happen in a vacuum. The shortened season with less rest is 99% likely making more injuries happen.

Injuries happen but if every team that went to conference finals last year have long-term injuries, there is something to be said about scheduling. Also not these kind of injuries, non-contact injuries are mostly wear and tear.
