So anyway,

I love James Harden, and he plays and sees the floor better than a fair share of PGs (including OMG WESTBROOK) but I am not necessarily advocating the Jazz play him in that position with regularity.

As it turns out, we have the same position.
Namely, yes, he's a 2, but he can play some minutes at the 1. And, maybe he should.

Kanter and Burks plus the better of Jazz or GSW pick, their choice this year or next. Plus amnesty Harris then beg D-Will to come back by promising him Corbin's position effective immediately as well as KOC's job after D-Will retires.

D-Will
Harden
Hayward
Favors, Millsap
Jefferson

And I'm sure LeBron is in there too but didn't know if he's a 2 or a 3.

Obviously he has PG skills, but I think he best uses those as a SG. Much like Kobe, Wade, Jordan, James, etc. were/are all de facto PG's in a sense, but I think it's still generally a good idea to have a more traditional PG for defensive purposes/pushing the ball/handling the ball.

I mean, Miami probably has the best personnel to completely forgo using a PG, but they still choose to use Chalmers/Cole. There is a reason for it.

I'm not actually sure that there is, though. Wade and James can guard PGs, and the offense runs through them. And they're both better at creating opportunities for others than the scrubs they have playing. If there's one team in the league that should eliminate the traditional position, it's them, and they don't mostly because I think they're... scared to?

Do you really want Wade/James chasing around PG's all game though? PG may be the toughest defensive position because of all the screens you have to run through. Even bringing the ball up the court every play is tiring (even though it seems like a small thing) and it's just much easier to get into sets if you have a PG push the ball down, and get the ball to your playmaker in the spot.

It's always just nice to have a speedy PG who can get into lanes and cause havoc. Even though James and Wade are as fast and as athletic as anyone in the league, they still can't move as quickly as an athletic PG.

Yes, because every SG-sized player with PG skills has the capability of being a full-time PG like Magic Johnson.
