He also hits the corner three and might have the best lateral movement of any Jazz player… but yeah Quin wanted to experiment with a zone defense that definitely wasn’t a zone… and you can’t do that unless you do it all game… it’s illegal to change styles. Rather than having a big that can just switch out on the perimeter so the bigs don’t get open looks and hold the other defenders accountable for playing defense… it’s better to play a defense with a large human who doesn’t really know how to play basketball in a scheme that no one can really describe. It's baffling. Paschall's very best attribute as a player is scoring inside the paint. Being the roll man, or even just a guy who cuts/drives to the hoop with a spaced floor is the perfect scenario for him.
Paschall is shooting 34/48 inside the paint this year and has a high FTr. But I guess he's not good enough inside so we have to play Dok....against a spread offense like HOU nonetheless.
He definitely deserves regular minutes and role. It’s wild that having Paschall an actual basketball player who does good basketball things on the court instead of Doke who is a large human actually worked… weird that having a big that just switches out on the perimeter and stays in front of guys is more effective than putting a large human in the paint while opposing team shoots three after three.
Paschall needs minutes… I literally think he might be the best player we have at staying in front of guys. He can make the corner three… he plays with actual energy… even if that energy leads to some over zealous fouls. #freeEP
Yeah, me too. Prime Deron was built different.I miss D-will. I always felt like we had a chance to win close games with the ball in his hands...I don't have that feeling with anyone on this team.
Why are we consistently so bad at the draft? We aren’t a big market so you’d think we’d have a crack scouting team to score in the draft. This is not the farm thread but yeah, we probably should've taken Herb Jones......
Considering our issues, missing on Herb Jones in the 2nd round might be one of our biggest draft mistakes we have had in the last 5 years. This is not the farm thread but yeah, we probably should've taken Herb Jones......
That was his 1 good game out of 5. He will next play horrible defense and shoot us out of the next several games.I know we all get upset with Clarkson, but hate him or love him, he wants to be here and play here. No one else does, or will. Bring someone else in and they will want to bolt when their contract is up
The issue with Forrest is he’s not a shooter at all. He has no potential to be an acceptable shooter… and he’s a high turnover player. So it’s nice he’s a good defender but having a perimeter player with a mix of non shooter and high turnover absolutely nukes our offense. It’s made worse by the fact we have non shooter bigs. He’s also not a disruptive defender…not a lot of deflections, steals, etc. So my issue is where is his development going… because he’s nowhere near being good enough as a shooter and I don’t believe he will ever be a good shooter. It’s something people assume guys can just get better at but many guys at his level never become good enough. Last night guys actually closed out to him… other nights teams are more prepared and ignore him. It’s just another low ceiling project… like Tony Bradley. It’s fine to have Forrest on the roster and we didn’t waste a pick on him… but to prioritize him over Hughes and Butler is silly. Trent will never be a guy that can play extended minutes unless you get a shooting 5. He’s a guy that will be scouted harder in the playoffs and ignored. He will be unplayable in some situations.Everybody wants better defenders yet they complain about Forrest getting minutes who is one of the best defenders this year holding players to 39% when he guards them. Which is better than Smart has ever been on defense.
But Butler is the best in the NBA for anyone who's played more than 10 games at a ridiculous 19%.
LolThat's exactly what your mom whispered in my ear.
If you would have watched Butler last night you would not be saying that. He made NWG look like Magic Johnson. The issue with Forrest is he’s not a shooter at all. I'm talking about his good games and his 6th man campaign. Yes he has had bad games but people tend to crucify him more than has been Joe or when Bojan is brokendownovichThat was his 1 good game out of 5. He will next play horrible defense and shoot us out of the next several games.
Quin will never see it that way. He prefers Royce the reluctant and Trent lost in the ForrestBased on the Toronto game we need to get Eliza Huge minutes in a bad way.
