He will be owed 50mil a year until 2030 and by no definition is that an "underpay". The likes Watson, Black, Ayo are now all out of the window and we just made an Kess extension really really difficult. And in reality it's really our 2026 first in the deal too cuz acquiring JJJ makes it almost impossible for us to stay in the bottom 8. Memphis will for sure surpass us in the L column now.

Whenever you're evaluating the later years of a contract, the thing you really need to keep in mind is that the salary cap is going to be a lot higher then than it is now.

We traded 3 firsts for the Suns picks.
And still gave more draft capital.

That's a lot of firsts for JJJ. We really need to hit on this years pick or we're doomed.

Not all firsts are created equal. That Suns pick is probably the only really great asset we gave up.
